Lorry Driver Story
The film is set against the backdrop of a lorry drivers’ union oppressed by the power-hungry owner Ranganayakulu. Envious of drivers becoming independent, he conspires to sabotage them, bribing the corrupt cop Netaji to arrest them on false charges. Among the drivers, the fearless Balamurali stands tall, driving a lorry owned by Jayamma, with whom he falls in love. Balamurali boldly confronts Netaji’s injustices, catching the attention of the upright Collector Lalitha Devi and SP Pradeep Kumar. Initially skeptical of Balamurali, they eventually recognize his integrity with the support of Advocate Kaasipati, Netaji’s own principled father. Lalitha Devi suspends Netaji and warns Ranganayakulu, while Balamurali continues to fight for the workers’ rights. In retaliation, Ranganayakulu colludes with bank manager Subramanyam, tricking workers into debt using Jayamma’s loans, leaving her nearly bankrupt. When Balamurali lashes out, Kaasipati persuades him to pursue justice legally. But before Subramanyam can testify, Ranganayakulu’s aide Seenu murders him. Lalitha Devi, witnessing the aftermath with her children, orders an investigation. Soon after, Balamurali and Jayamma capture Seenu and expose Ranganayakulu, recovering the stolen money and helping the drivers gain independence.
Humiliated, Ranganayakulu hires the dreaded goon Gudiwada Rayudu, who kills Seenu to protect himself and engineers SP Pradeep’s suspension. Balamurali strikes back, but Rayudu escalates matters by publicly slapping the Collector, only to be beaten and arrested by Balamurali. Though acquitted in court due to lack of evidence, Rayudu frames the Collector and SP in a murder case. Determined to prove their innocence, Balamurali shelters them and captures Ranganayakulu’s aide Nalla Ram Murthy, turning him approver. Enraged, Rayudu attacks the drivers’ colony, killing Kaasipati in the process, while Netaji perishes in the clash. In the climactic showdown, Balamurali defeats the villains, clears the Collector and SP, and restores justice. The film ends on a happy note with the marriage of Balamurali and Jayamma, symbolizing victory over tyranny and corruption.
