Muddula Krishnayya Story
The film begins in a village ruled by Mangalagiri Ramanamma, a domineering woman who rides roughshod over the people. Her timid husband, Appa Rao, is constantly overshadowed, but his audacious nephew, Krishnayya, boldly opposes Ramanamma’s injustices. Radha, Ramanamma’s equally arrogant daughter, mirrors her mother’s behavior and clashes with Krishnayya. Over time, however, Radha falls in love with him. Noticing this, Appa Rao devises a plan to unite the families. He convinces Ramanamma that the only way to control Krishnayya is to marry him to Radha. Though reluctant, she eventually agrees, imposing conditions. Krishnayya, too, accepts under his own terms. With Appa Rao’s clever maneuvering, the wedding takes place. Soon after, conflict arises when Krishnayya insists Radha accompany him, but Ramanamma interferes, leading to further discord between the couple.
On returning home, Krishnayya discovers a mysterious and beautiful woman, Shanti, who claims to be his distant relative and behaves with unusual secrecy. The next day, the villagers are shocked when Shanti begins acting like Krishnayya’s wife, fueling jealousy in Ramanamma and Radha. To heighten their envy, Krishnayya pretends intimacy with Shanti. Despite several attempts to drive her away, Shanti remains. Eventually, Ramanamma realizes Shanti is a famous film star and calls for her men to take her back. Krishnayya intervenes and reveals the truth: Shanti is his childhood friend, orphaned and raised by an aunt who molded her into an actress. She had returned during his wedding and staged the drama to reform Radha. Though Krishnayya offers to marry her, Shanti affirms Radha has truly changed and chooses to leave the village, bidding him farewell. In the end, Ramanamma admits her mistakes, and the film closes on a happy note with the reunion of Krishnayya and Radha.
