Atma Bandhuvu Story

Rao Bahadur Chandra Shekaram, a tycoon, lives delightfully with his loving family containing his wife Parvati; three sons, Prasad, Sridhar, and Raghu; two daughters, the widowed Mangalamba and Geeta; two daughters-in-law, Lalitha and Kamala, and their children. They also rear an orphan callow Ranga, who is utterly devoted to them. Meanwhile, Parvati promises her childhood friend to knit her benevolent daughter Lakshmi to Raghu, which he denies as he is in love with a girl named Janaki. So, to keep up with Parvati safely, Ranga splices Lakshmi. Everything goes well. Geeta is also engaged with Madhu, the son of wealthy Raja Rao.

Life takes a U-turn, where Rao Bahadur is bankrupted, and Geeta’s alliance is called off. Therefore, meteoric change obtains in his family members’ attitudes. Whereat, Ranga rebukes them, and when he is mortified, Rao Bahadur cannot tolerate and ostracizes him. Now, Ranga is acquainted with a guy named Kotaiah, the co-brother of Raghu, who aids him in acquiring a job in a factory owned by Raja Rao. Afterward, Rao Bahadur dies, leaving his wife and daughters to the merciless children. Finally, Ranga, with his simplicity and pure hardheartedness, proves in the end that love and affection are the most significant wealth.
