Bhanumati Gari Mogudu Story
The film begins in a village where Jaya Krishna, a courageous young man, lives determined to protect his grandfather’s farmland from encroachment. Gowri, a mischievous village girl, constantly tries to charm him, but his focus shifts to earning enough to reclaim his land, leading him to the city. There, he crosses paths with Bhanumati, a haughty feminist who quarrels with everyone and openly opposes marriage. Bound by her father’s will—which states she cannot inherit wealth until wed—Bhanumati reluctantly agrees to a sham marriage after her lawyer, Kodal Rao, suggests it. Meanwhile, four local goons attempt to exploit her, but Jaya Krishna rescues her. Grateful yet stubborn, Bhanumati consents to wed him, and her brother Raghava and sister-in-law Rani formalize the union through a registered marriage. Frequent quarrels follow, and Jaya Krishna, frustrated, tries to leave, only for Raghava to stop him, reminding him that he is the right man to reform Bhanumati. From then on, Jaya Krishna asserts his authority as her husband, pulling her along with him back to the village.
Once there, Bhanumati realizes that her husband’s approval is mandatory for any transaction, so she begins plotting to divorce him, seeking Gowri’s help, though her efforts end in comedic failure. Soon, the four villains strike again, dragging Bhanumati into trouble at a police station. At the critical moment, Jaya Krishna arrives, declares her his wife, and, when asked for proof, ties the wedding chain around her neck. This awakens a change in Bhanumati, who begins to accept her husband’s place in her life. That night, Gowri shelters her, but the next morning Gowri is found dead, and suspicion falls on Bhanumati. Determined to prove her innocence, Jaya Krishna investigates and unmasks Baddikotu Pakir, a crook bribed by the villains to trap Bhanumati. Gowri had secretly tried to protect Bhanumati by agreeing to marry Pakir, but he deceived her, leading to her tragic death. In the climax, Jaya Krishna defeats the villains, clears Bhanumati’s name, and wins her remorseful acceptance. The film ends happily with Bhanumati finally embracing her role as Jaya Krishna’s wife and accompanying him back to the village.
