Bharathamlo Balachandrudu Story

The film begins with three treacherous men—Prabhakar, Govardhanam, and D.I.G. Gundu Rao—who create mayhem in the country while disguising themselves as patriots. Balachandra, a fearless revolutionary living in the forest, opposes their corruption and earns the reverence of the local tribes, who see him as a savior. To silence him, the villains brand him a terrorist and frame him for crimes. During a forest trip, Bhanu, the daughter of Govardhanam, meets and admires Balachandra, eventually joining him. Meanwhile, Inspector Ranjith Kumar, an honest police officer, exposes Prabhakar’s illegal activities despite threats. To trap him, Prabhakar cunningly assigns Ranjith the task of capturing Balachandra. Instead, Ranjith meets Balachandra in the forest, recognizes his integrity, and allies with him against the real culprits. He arrests Prabhakar, but the latter escapes justice through deceit, leading to Ranjith’s suspension. Tragedy strikes when Prabhakar brutally murders Ranjith’s family, sparing only his wife, Vijaya.

Shattered, Ranjith unites with Balachandra, and together they strategize to bring down the villains. Through careful planning, they eliminate the criminals and surrender themselves to the court. Though initially condemned to death, Balachandra boldly questions the integrity of the judicial system and exposes the crimes of the three traitors. Realizing its mistake, the judiciary acquits Balachandra and declares the trio guilty of treason. However, before the law can act, the devastated Vijaya, consumed by grief over her family’s murder, takes justice into her own hands and kills them. In the end, Balachandra pledges before Vijaya to dedicate his life to safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation.
