Chennakesava Reddy Story

The film begins in Rayalaseema, where villagers revere the legendary factionist Chennakesava Reddy, who has been imprisoned for 22 years. In his absence, the region falls under the tyranny of Dhanunjaya Reddy and his brothers—Minister Jai Reddy, Justice Ravi Reddy, and Krishna Reddy. Meanwhile in Mumbai, DCP Bharat, a fearless cop who uncannily resembles Chennakesava Reddy, is relentless in his fight against crime and crosses paths with medico Preethi, daughter of Commissioner Prasad, with whom he gradually falls in love. Back in Rayalaseema, SP Ramaraju curtails Dhanunjaya Reddy’s atrocities until political pressure exiles him to Tihar Jail, where he discovers Chennakesava Reddy still in custody. Through legal maneuvers, Ramaraju secures his release. Upon returning, Chennakesava Reddy slays Jai Reddy, reclaims his dominance, and reunites with his sister Janaki—whom he urges to end her abusive marriage to Krishna Reddy. It is then revealed that Bharat is none other than Chennakesava Reddy’s son, who soon joins his father with Devi, his mother. Their alliance with Preethi is also arranged, much to the enemies’ alarm.

From here, Chennakesava Reddy embarks on a bloody vendetta, eliminating Justice Ravi Reddy, but is treacherously backstabbed by Krishna Reddy. In retaliation, Janaki kills her husband and reveals the truth of the past: Chennakesava Reddy, once the most revered arbiter of the land, had slain Venkat Reddy (father of his rivals) for murdering innocents. On that day, Venkat Reddy and his sons massacred Chennakesava Reddy’s entire family, leaving only his wife Devi and infant son Bharat, who escaped across the border. Framed by false charges, he spent decades in jail. Bharat now recognizes his father’s righteousness but is bound by his duty as a lawman. When Devi sacrifices herself to preserve her husband’s honor, tragedy deepens. Eventually, Chennakesava Reddy breaks free once more, storms a public rally, and slaughters Dhanunjaya Reddy with Bharat’s support. In the climax, Chennakesava Reddy accepts his punishment, entrusting Bharat with his legacy. The film closes with Bharat stepping into his father’s shoes as the torchbearer of justice in Rayalaseema.
