Chikkadu Dorakadu Story
The film begins with Raja and Rani, two petty thieves studying at a “college of thieves” run by Principal Krishna Paramatma. Initially at odds, their rivalry gradually blossoms into love. Meanwhile, Gayatri Devi, the owner of the Ratnagiri estate, lives with her sons—Pedababu Pradeep and Chinababu Dileep, who is the lookalike of Raja. Pradeep dies in a staged car accident, leaving behind his wife Sumitra, who loses her sanity, and three young children. The tragedy is orchestrated by Gayatri Devi’s wicked brothers Satyam, Sivam, and Sundaram, who scheme to seize her fortune and the hidden heritage diamond “Suryakanthi.” With Dileep away abroad, the villains bide their time to kill him as well. By chance, Raja appears in court, and the trio, shocked at his resemblance, forces him to impersonate Dileep through deception. Raja, seeing the wealth and opportunity, plays along. Meanwhile, Sundaram secretly colludes with Krishna Paramatma to steal the diamond, delegating the task to Rani, who infiltrates the household as a tutor named Seeta Devi. Pretending to be strangers, Raja and Rani both adapt to their roles, with Rani gradually reformed by Gayatri Devi’s affection and the love of the children.
The villains soon attempt to assassinate Dileep and frame Raja, leading to his imprisonment. He vows to destroy them, even as Gayatri Devi collapses under the strain. In a shocking twist, the real Dileep returns alive, exposing their deception and standing alongside Raja. Dileep wages war against the trio, dismantling their power, while Raja escapes prison with the help of Inspector Rama Rao, the family’s ally. Raja and Rani then team up to defeat the brothers. To outwit them, Rani poses as the heir of Gadwal, tricking the villains into courting her, while Raja disguises Krishna Paramatma as the emperor of Gadwal. Rani cleverly seduces the trio into betraying one another, and their confessions of past crimes are recorded by Raja, though discovered later. Gayatri Devi fixes Dileep and Seeta’s (Rani’s) marriage, during which Krishna Paramatma schemes to substitute the diamond through a fake tradition. On the eve, the villains abduct Sumitra and her children, demanding the Suryakanthi diamond and the incriminating cassette. Raja tactfully rescues them, defeats the villains, and restores Sumitra’s sanity. In the end, Gayatri Devi recognizes Raja’s courage and accepts him as her son. The story concludes joyfully with the marriage of Raja and Rani.
