Chintamani Story
The film begins with a prostitute, Chintamani, despite being an ardent devotee of Krishna. She half-heartedly lures and snatches the wealth of Bhavani Shankarudu, a Brahmin, and Subbi Shetty, a merchant, due to the pestering of her rapacious mother, Srihari. Bellvamangaludu, son of Vasudeva Murthy, a gold merchant, lives delightfully with his dedicated wife, Radha. Bhavani Shankarudu makes his acquaintance with Chintamani, and they are infatuated. Being aware of it, Vasudeva Murthy warns his son, who turns a deaf ear. This leads to his father’s ailment and death. However, Bellvamangaludu’s desire for Chintamani magnifies, and he proceeds by neglecting his father’s death on a cyclonic night. Beyond that, he crosses the river with the aid of the carcass of none other than Radha, who died falling from the cliff backing him. Moreover, he climbs the compound with a snake, assuming it is a crupper. At that point, Chintamani spots his bloodshed clothes and enquires when he proclaims his activity. Accordingly, she chides Bellvamangaludu, and he collapses out of repentance, discerning the corpse as Radha. At this, Krishna enlightens Chintamani, who moves on bestowing her property to the village.
After Radha’s funeral, Bellvamangaludu burns his eyes as repentance for his sins. Then he turns into an ardent devotee of Krishna and resides in an Ashram, where Chintamani also arrives. Next, Krishna decides to give salvation to the two, which Rukmini bars—questioning how he could do so. Hence, he lands with Rukmini for a test to detect fragrance, which is impossible for great saints. Anyhow, Bellvamangaludu, without vision, recognizes it as the fragrance of the Lord, when he recoups his vision. Finally, the movie ends with Krishna giving salvation to Chintamani and Bellvamangaludu.
