Deshodharakudu Story

The film begins in a village where Gopi, a mischievous young man, is raised by his grandfather Shankaraiah along with his sister Lakshmi. Gopi’s pranks constantly cause trouble, but Shankaraiah shields him to preserve the family’s honor. When a beautiful girl, Vijaya, visits the village, she initially clashes with Gopi in petty quarrels but gradually falls for him after he protects her from danger. Meanwhile, a marriage proposal for Lakshmi falls apart due to Gopi’s antics, leaving Shankaraiah heartbroken and ultimately causing his death. Determined to redeem himself and earn respect, Gopi leaves for the city.

Elsewhere, in another village, two tyrants—Dharma Rayudu and Narasimha Naidu—terrorize the people while competing for dominance. Vijaya, who lives there as the daughter of the School Master, suffers under their cruelty and files a complaint. The government appoints a special officer to curb their atrocities, but by coincidence, the villains mistake Gopi for the officer when he arrives. At Vijaya’s request, Gopi continues the ruse, reforming himself into a capable and responsible leader. He mocks, outsmarts, and confronts the villains while uplifting the village. Eventually, it is revealed that the true special officer is the local madman. In the climax, Gopi defeats the villains, restoring peace and dignity. Witnessing Gopi’s transformation, Lakshmi’s former suitor Venu returns to marry her, while Gopi himself weds Vijaya. The film ends on a happy note with harmony restored in both families.
