The Legacy of Dasu’s Balijepalli

The Dasu family embodies a distinguished heritage of poetry, philosophy, and social vision, rooted in the lives of Dasu Sriramulu and his wife, Smt. Ongole Savitri of Vijayawada. Revered for their wisdom and compassion, they were blessed with nine children—affectionately remembered as the Navaratnas (Nine Jewels).

The Balijepalli family, from Bethavolu in Gudivada, this lineage flourished through Sri Narasimham and Smt. Venkayamma, and further through Sri Dakshinamurthi and Smt. Sitharavamma, an educationist of rare dedication. Their children—sons and daughters alike—formed a constellation of talent and virtue, upholding values of learning, service, and integrity.

Living Tradition

This enduring tradition continues through Dr. Bhargava Teja, grandson of Sri Dakshinamurthi and Smt. Sitharavamma, and son of Dasu Dr. Hymavathi and Prof. Dr. Briz-Kishore. An educationist and visionary, Dr. Teja harmonizes heritage with modern thought, drawing inspiration from his roots while charting new directions in research, social engagement, and holistic well-being.

Guided by the legacy of his forebears, he carries forward the Balijepalli essence—where knowledge is cultivated as service, compassion is nurtured as strength, and tradition is transformed into a bridge toward the future.

Personal Journey

Raised with affection by his aunt, Smt. Challa Rukmini, and surrounded by brothers and cousins, Dr. Teja grew up in a circle of love and learning. His intellectual journey was deeply influenced by the mentorship of Sriman Avinash Malhotra (New York), inspiring his vision of Nurturing Knowledge, Spreading Hope.

A Journey of Brilliance

This Foreword honours the extraordinary journey of Dr. Bhargava Teja and sets the foundation for the purpose of the Dasu’s Balijepalli Trust. Trained in BCA, MBA, and a Ph.D. in Management, he emerged as a scholar of distinction, a widely published researcher, and a respected management consultant and advisor to leading institutions and corporate leaders. His work reflected a rare balance of global perspective and Indian ethical grounding.

Vision and Values

Through more than 20 publications and reports, he championed ethical leadership, sustainable growth, and cultural rootedness. His work emphasized:

Sustainability & Innovation – Promoting governance and ICT models for future resilience.

Tourism & Development – Linking tourism with inclusive growth and cultural preservation.

Indian Ethos – Harmonizing Dharma, Karma, and Niti with modern frameworks.

Education – Advocating competence with empathy and integrity.

Most importantly, this Trust stands for the values he lived by: knowledge as responsibility, culture as guidance, and service as a quiet duty. In preserving his life’s work and spirit, the Trust aims not only to protect the past, but to illuminate the future.

His unique ability to merge Western management with Eastern philosophy earned him recognition on national and international platforms, and even the admiration of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, who honored him during the release of his book on the actor Krishna.
