Kathanayakudu Story

The film begins with Justice Rajeswari Devi, a woman of integrity, who lives with her two younger brothers, Mohan and Ravi. Ravi, a stalwart devoted to public welfare, openly challenges corrupt politicians, earning the admiration of the masses. However, his actions incur the wrath of MP Chandra Shekar Rao and MLA Kunti Kanakaiah. A rift develops between Rajeswari Devi and Ravi, as his radical methods clash with her lawful approach, leading him to leave home. Amidst this, Padma, the daughter of Kanakaiah, falls in love with Ravi. Meanwhile, Mohan pretends to be upright but is actually corrupt, lured by Saroja, a club dancer. Saroja’s malicious father, Seshu, is revealed as the estranged vagabond husband of Rajeswari Devi, who raised Saroja against her mother out of spite. Chandra Shekar Rao, seeking power, arranges his son Raghu’s marriage to Saraswathi, daughter of labor union leader Edukondalu, to win elections. Later, he plots to seize their labor colony, but Edukondalu resists. In retaliation, Saraswathi is murdered and her death staged as an accident, with the case falling under Rajeswari Devi’s jurisdiction. Despite threats and manipulations by Chandra Shekar Rao and Seshu, she refuses to yield.

The conspirators then ally with the notorious ruffian King Kong. Together, they entrap Mohan by planting a maid, Kotamma, who seduces him and blackmails Rajeswari Devi. To counter this, Rajeswari Devi compels Mohan to marry Kotamma. However, during their honeymoon, the villains murder Kotamma and frame Mohan. Determined to expose the truth, Rajeswari Devi resigns her judgeship and defends Mohan in court. Saroja, driven by vengeance against her mother, testifies falsely against Mohan. Eventually, Ravi intervenes, reveals the truth to Saroja, and reunites her with her mother. Though the judiciary dismisses Saroja’s testimony, Ravi kidnaps Raghu and forces him to confess their crimes. In the ensuing chaos, King Kong kills Saroja, but her sacrifice strengthens Ravi’s resolve. Finally, Ravi defeats the villains, clears Mohan of charges, and restores justice. The movie concludes on a happy note with Ravi marrying Padma.
