Krishna Babu Story

The film begins in the village of Krishnapuram, where Krishna Babu is the arbitrator whose word is law. He resides with his maternal uncle Chandraiah and loves Rama, the daughter of the village headmaster. However, Sarvarayudu, his vicious step–maternal uncle, harbors a family feud and opposes Krishna’s sense of justice. Krishna’s younger brother Vijay, whom he dotes on as his own, studies in the city and falls in love with his classmate Shilpa. While Krishna and Rama get engaged, Rama’s uncle, a jailor, reveals Krishna’s past as a homicide. In a flashback, Krishna’s father, the Zamindar, maintained an illicit affair with another woman and fathered Vijay. Sarvarayudu, the woman’s brother, schemed against Krishna’s mother, leading to her death, while Krishna was falsely accused and sentenced after his father’s death. Sarvarayudu later killed his own sister, leaving Vijay orphaned, but Krishna entrusted his care to Chandraiah. After 14 years, Krishna returned to his village, took charge as a noble leader, and regained the villagers’ goodwill. However, Sarvarayudu abducted Rama, and in the ensuing clash, Krishna accidentally killed her, leading to another prison sentence of seven years. Before leaving, he sent Vijay abroad for higher studies.

After his release, Krishna encountered his ex-warden—Shilpa’s father—on his deathbed, who entrusted Shilpa’s responsibility to him. Shilpa accompanied Krishna back to the village, supporting him through his struggles and restoring his lost composure. Their bond soon raised questions, and at Chandraiah’s request, they agreed to marry. On the wedding day, Vijay returned from abroad, stunned to see Shilpa as the bride, and kept silent. When Vijay’s friends revealed the truth to Krishna, he realized the sacrifice required. Finally, Krishna Babu united Vijay and Shilpa, eliminated Sarvarayudu, and once again surrendered himself—accepting his fate for the third time.
