Maatho Pettukoku Story
The film begins in a small town where Sitamma, the virtuous daughter-in-law of a Zamindar, lives happily with her husband and their twin sons, Arjun and Kishtaiah. But tragedy strikes when Chakravarthy, the Zamindar’s malicious son-in-law, murders him and his son, seizing the family’s riches. Devastated, Sitamma vows not to disperse her husband’s ashes until vengeance is served. During another assault, Chakravarthy separates the family, scattering them in different directions. Years later, Kishtaiah is raised by a bold woman named Manikyam and grows into a mischievous pickpocket. He crosses paths with Latha, the daughter of Chakravarthy’s ally, Mayor Basavaiah, and eventually falls in love with her. Meanwhile, Arjun becomes a brave police officer and purposely arranges his posting in his hometown. There he encounters Bhavani, Chakravarthy’s cruel son, who is involved in trafficking and criminal activities. Arjun dismantles Bhavani’s empire with his intelligence, wins the affection of a hardworking woman, Lakshmi, and soon arrests Bhavani.
Learning of this, Chakravarthy intervenes to rescue his son but is outsmarted by Arjun. Furious, he bribes SI Venkata Rao, only for Arjun to cleverly turn the tables and eliminate both the corrupt cop and Bhavani. Enraged, Chakravarthy vows to destroy Arjun, but to his shock, discovers that there are two identical men—Arjun and Kishtaiah. He deceives Kishtaiah with the promise of marrying Latha, using him in a ploy to assassinate Basavaiah and incriminate Arjun. At a public event, however, Sitamma—now living in a temple in a semi-mad state, still holding her husband’s ashes—intervenes and shoots Chakravarthy. When she is arrested, Kishtaiah rescues her by impersonating Arjun, only for Manikyam to reveal that Kishtaiah is Sitamma’s lost son. Around the same time, Arjun discovers Sitamma’s bag and realizes she is his mother. The family reunites at last. In the climax, Arjun and Kishtaiah together defeat Chakravarthy and finally perform their father’s last rites. The film ends on a joyous note with the double wedding of Arjun to Lakshmi and Kishtaiah to Latha.
