Malleswari Story
During t he reign of the [[Vijayanagara Empire]], in a village, Veerapuram, the turtle doves Nagaraju & Malleswari live. Narappa, Malleswari’s father, is the village head who aspires to knit them. However, his greedy wife Nagamma denies it for Nagaraju’s economic s tatus. Once, Nagaraju & Malleswari move to a fair that halts in between due to rainfall. At that point, [[Krishnadevaraya]], in guise with [[Allasani Peddana]], is mesmerized by Malleswari’s rare gift of music & dance. Unbeknownst to them, Nagaraju pranks to recommend the palanquin of “Ranivasam.” It is a tradition of a boon for young women who become residents of the palace, offering immense wealth to their families. Plus, she should be staying lifelong single and not keep any contact with men. Parallelly, Nagaraju’s mother, Govindamma, walks with the proposal when Nagamma voices her opinion and mortifies them. Ergo, Nagaraju challenges gain to amass wealth for Malleswari and proceeds. With his prodigy as a sculptor, Nagaraju triumphs at Vijayanagara. Meanwhile, Krishnadevaraya edicts & officially appoints Malleswari as the mate to his wife Tirumala Devi and bestows “Ranivasam palanquin.” Despite Narappa’s refusal, Nagamma forcibly does so for her yearning. After a while, Nagaraju backs and turns into a rove r & insane learning the fatality.
Later, he joins a group of sculptors and steps into Vijayanagara as the Empire dreams of constructing a unique infrastructure at the fort. Krishnadevaraya is ecstatic about Nagaraju’s art, and Malleswari is startled to vie w it. She is about to acquaint with Nagaraju, but maid Jalaja bars them. Since if she violates the rules of “Ranivasam,” they will be beheaded. Jalaja calls their meeting at midnight on the [[Tungabhadra River]] banks. The same night, Malleswari unexpected ly participates in a play at the dance hall. Hence, Nagaraju intrudes into the palace and is captured. Malleswari hinders it, and she, too, seized. The following day, the accused was before the Empire for the breach. Hereupon, Nagaraju blames him for sendi ng the palanquin when Krishnadevaraya defends, stating he is the critical factor. Then Nagaraju is conscious of his wrong and pleads pardon. At last, Krishnadevaraya forgives the two by grandly conducting their nuptials. Finally, the movie ends happily wit h Nagaraju & Malleswari returning to their village.
