Brahmastram Story
The film begins with an amnesiac kid tied to a Hindu holy wedding chain (”Mangalsutra”) by a cut-throat gangster, Rudra. Amazingly, the boy transforms into a raging bull and an unstoppable machine whenever the chain is removed, so Rudra molds him into the ultimate weapon.
Years pass, and Bangaram grows up in a cage—unkempt, uncivilized, and unable to speak properly. Meanwhile, Vasudev, a blind pianist, resides with his daughter Gayatri and owns an instrumental shop. One day, Bangaram is attracted to Vasudev’s music and enters his shop, where he interacts with the piano.
Soon after, Rudra’s gang encounters a turf war, leaving behind bloody carnage. Bangaram escapes with deadly wounds and lands at Vasudev’s house. Vasudev rescues and shelters him. Gayatri teaches him how to live as a real man in civilized society and calls him Guru. In her presence, he experiences joy and develops deep affection for Gayatri, whose words become his law. Gradually, she too falls for Guru’s innocent and naïve ways.
At the same time, Vasudev has an opportunity to regain his sight, which costs ₹5 lakhs—an amount too high for Gayatri. Rudra, having survived the previous conflict, intends to recapture Guru, but fails. Meanwhile, Guru and Gayatri visit an old church, where his memories resurface, and they recognize a photograph of his mother, Thulasi. The church father informs them that Thulasi was a volunteer who was brutally killed by her husband out of suspicion.
Aware of this, Guru confronts Rudra about his father’s whereabouts. Rudra tricks him by promising answers, but only if Guru obeys him. Guru borrows the required money from Rudra for Vasudev’s operation and secretly pays it. Rudra then exploits Guru as a fighter in an underground fight club. Simultaneously, Vasudev regains his sight, but Gayatri expels Guru after learning from the church father that Vasudev is actually Guru’s father. She reveals the truth to Vasudev.
Guru is severely injured during a fight, and Vasudev and Gayatri rush him to the hospital. Vasudev declares himself as Guru’s father, but Guru does not believe it and retreats. Twenty-five years ago, Vasudev, a soldier, had married Thulasi in a love match. Gayatri is the daughter of Vasudev’s best friend and colleague. During their duty at the border, Rudra publicly humiliates Gayatri’s mother. Thulasi intervenes and punishes him. Later, Gayatri’s parents die, and Vasudev adopts her. That same night, Rudra betrays Vasudev and attempts to assault Thulasi. To protect her, Vasudev is forced to shoot Thulasi, tragically losing his vision and leaving Guru amnesiac, who Rudra abducts.
In the present, Guru finally embraces Vasudev as his father. When Rudra attacks Guru again, he collapses. During this critical moment, Gayatri removes the wedding chain from Guru, prompting him to confront and eliminate the evil. Guru defeats Rudra.
Finally, the movie ends on a happy note, with Gayatri asking Guru to tie the wedding chain around her neck.
