Peddarikam Story
The film begins in a village where a fierce rivalry exists between the families of Parvataneni Parasuramayya and Adusumilli Basavapurnamma, who serve as arbitrators. Parasuramayya despises women and forbids their entry into his house, leaving his four sons—Balaramudu, Rama Krishna, Narasimham, and Krishna Mohan—unmarried. Fate brings Krishna Mohan and Janaki, Basavapurnamma’s granddaughter, together as law college students. Meanwhile, Basavapurnamma arranges Janaki’s match with the Home Minister, but it is canceled due to Parasuramayya’s influence. Krishna Mohan and his friend Prasad humiliate Janaki in college, provoking Basavapurnamma to use her granddaughter as a weapon to create discord in Parasuramayya’s family. Janaki begins to play along, but Prasad encourages Krishna Mohan to pretend affection for her as revenge, which soon transforms into genuine love. Veerabhadram, Basavapurnamma’s younger son, discovers that Janaki’s mother was originally meant to marry Balaramaiah, but Basavapurnamma abducted her and gave her to her elder son Sambasivudu. In the ensuing chaos, Parasuramayya’s wife was killed and Basavapurnamma’s husband was also slain, causing the young lovers to hesitate. Later, Krishna Mohan learns Rama Krishna is secretly living a family life and promises his support if Mohan marries Janaki. When Parasuramayya learns this, he attacks Rama Krishna but is stopped by Mohan, leading to their expulsion from the family.
Basavapurnamma, realizing Janaki’s love is real, arranges her marriage to their family lawyer’s son while still plotting the destruction of Parasuramayya’s clan. She sends her sons to seek Parasuramayya’s support against Mohan’s wedding to Janaki, which he grants, believing her sincerity. However, Veerabhadram reveals her schemes to Krishna Mohan. With his aid, Mohan sneaks into the marriage hall, nearly marrying Janaki, when Basavapurnamma curses Parasuramayya. At this moment, her manipulations are exposed, and Krishna Mohan declares that his intent was not marriage but to safeguard his father’s honor. A remorseful Parasuramayya then consents to Krishna Mohan’s union with Janaki, and in doing so, finally opens his home to women, ending the feud and restoring peace.
