Pelli Kanuka Story

The film begins with Savitramma, a wealthy industrialist from Delhi, returning to her native village after many years. There, she reunites with her old family friend Sitaramaraju and his family. Enchanted by the traditional culture and charmed by Sitaramaraju’s daughter Ganga, Savitramma proposes her marriage to her westernized grandson, Srinivasa Prasad (Chintu). Though Sitaramaraju’s family agrees, Savitramma knows it will be difficult to persuade Chintu, so she entrusts the responsibility to her loyal foster son, Sagar (nicknamed Airport). Sagar arrives in the village before Chintu to prepare the ground, but when Chintu comes, he behaves rudely and ignorantly, often offending the villagers. Sagar, despite secretly developing feelings for Ganga, covers up Chintu’s flaws to ensure the engagement goes forward. After the families agree to take Ganga to Delhi before the wedding, she is shocked to hear Chintu’s parents ridicule traditional values. In her new surroundings, Ganga finds comfort only in Sagar, deepening their bond. Eventually, she discovers Chintu’s true, wicked nature, confronts him, and faces his misbehavior, prompting Sagar to stand against him.

Chintu retaliates by manipulating Savitramma, accusing Sagar of being an impostor. Believing him, Savitramma banishes Sagar to Agra. Meanwhile, Ganga decides to call off the marriage and return to her village. Before she can leave, Chintu lures her to Agra under the pretext of visiting the Taj Mahal, her favorite spot, and tries to molest her. She narrowly escapes, reunited with Sagar, who arrives to rescue her. However, before they return home, Chintu deceives Ganga’s family, claiming she eloped with Sagar. Misled, her family assaults Sagar and forces Ganga to accept Chintu. At this moment, Savitramma arrives, exposes Chintu’s lies, disowns her own family, and declares Sagar her true heir. The story ends with Savitramma blessing the union of Sagar and Ganga, finally fulfilling their love.
