Pelli Pandiri Story
The film begins with Prakash, the stubborn son of tycoon Notla Raghunath Chowdary, who befriends Govind, a poor boy playing the ektara outside his school. Their bond grows stronger when Raghunath’s accident kills Govind’s mother, leaving him an orphan. Prakash insists on bringing Govind into his home, even forcing his reluctant parents to accept him. Years later, Prakash goes abroad, while Raghunath schemes to drive Govind away. Hurt, Govind leaves and finds shelter as a helper in an apartment complex. There, he meets and falls in love with Kasthuri, a blind girl abandoned after her alcoholic father dies. Determined to restore her sight, Govind turns to Dr. Prabhavathi, who promises success through an expensive surgery. To raise funds, Govind borrows from Bhadram, the apartment secretary, but is betrayed when Bhadram robs the residents’ jewelry and frames Govind, landing him in jail. Meanwhile, Kasthuri regains her vision and is cared for by Dr. Prabhavathi, while Govind bonds with her ex-husband, Jailor Rama Rao, and even helps reunite them.
When Prakash returns, he learns how his parents mistreated Govind and scolds them. At Prabhavathi’s house, he meets Kasthuri, falls for her, and pressures his parents to agree to the match. Though Kasthuri initially refuses, she relents after Prakash attempts suicide. Govind is eventually acquitted, but when he discovers Kasthuri is Prakash’s bride-to-be, he chooses silence, fearing she may recognize him by his voice. Instead, he focuses on ensuring Prabhavathi and Rama Rao’s reunion. During the wedding, Kasthuri realizes Govind is her true love, but he insists he only cared for her happiness. Pressed by Prakash to swear that his feelings are false, Govind complies—until asked to swear on Prakash himself, which he cannot do. Moved by Govind’s loyalty, Prakash acknowledges the depth of their friendship and unites Govind with Kasthuri. The film ends on a joyful note with their marriage, cementing both love and friendship.
