Shubhalagnam Story

The film begins with Madhu, a sincere middle-class engineer, marrying Radha, a materialistic woman who dreams of a luxurious life. For seven years, their marriage is strained as Radha constantly nags Madhu to fulfill her desires. Though they have two children, Radha’s extravagant nature remains unchanged. Meanwhile, Madhu’s boss’s daughter, Latha, returns from abroad, and after Madhu rescues her from danger, she falls in love with him. Despite knowing he is married, Latha insists on having him. She befriends Radha and offers one crore rupees in exchange for Madhu. Overcome by jealousy and greed, Radha agrees, compelling Madhu to marry Latha. He divorces Radha, and all three end up living under the same roof. While Radha turns into a socialite, Madhu sticks to his simple lifestyle, and Latha slowly wins his and the children’s hearts with her love and care.

As time passes, Radha realizes her mistake and attempts to reform, but her efforts fail, and she begins to feel that Latha is stealing her family. Determined to get Madhu back, she returns all her wealth and even seeks legal action, claiming her rights as his first wife. Tensions escalate as Radha tries to oust Latha, but Madhu sides with Latha and the children. Heartbroken, Radha donates her property to an orphanage and seeks forgiveness. When she learns that Madhu, Latha, and the children are leaving abroad, she rushes to the airport and embraces them. In an emotional twist, Latha reveals she is stepping away from Madhu’s life—but not alone, as she is carrying his child. The film ends with Latha departing abroad, while Madhu, Radha, and the children bid her a heartfelt farewell.
