Inspector Pratap Story
The film begins in a town where Pratap, a spirited and patriotic cop, is newly deputed and vows to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the nation. He is brought there by his elder brother, Advocate Ramanatham, whom he reveres along with his sister-in-law Janaki, and he dotes on their child, Baby. Pratap soon meets and falls for Chukka, a lively young woman who runs a tea stall opposite his station. Meanwhile, Viswaroopam, a corrupt and influential man, thrives under a false guise of respectability. Pratap challenges him, sparking a fierce conflict. When Pratap arrests Viswaroopam’s rogue son Raakhi, Ramanatham defends him with fabricated alibis, causing a rift between the brothers. At the same time, Kranti and his group of rebels take up arms against Viswaroopam, but he cunningly frames them as dacoits. Assigned to capture them, Pratap eventually learns that Chukka is Kranti’s sister and that the rebels are innocent.
Viswaroopam, tightening his grip, draws Ramanatham into his fold as a business partner and arranges Baby’s marriage with Raakhi. Opposed to this, Pratap leaves home with Janaki and Baby. After capturing Kranti, he uncovers the truth—that Viswaroopam is the real criminal—and keeps the rebels under house arrest, where Janaki treats them with kindness. As Pratap joins hands with them, Janaki is diagnosed with cancer, needing urgent surgery. Pratap refuses financial help from Ramanatham and instead risks his life to arrange the money. Tragedy strikes when Baby is molested by Raakhi, shattering Ramanatham, who is then betrayed and discarded by the villains. Saved from a suicide attempt by Pratap, he finds courage again and reconciles with his brother. Together with Kranti and his men, they dismantle Viswaroopam’s empire piece by piece. In the climax, Pratap exposes Viswaroopam’s crimes publicly and clears Kranti’s name. The film ends with Inspector Pratap being honored by the government for his service.
