The film begins with two inseparable friends, Dhanunjaya Rao, a wealthy tycoon, and Chandra Shekar, a dedicated police officer. Their joy peaks when both are blessed with baby boys on the same day. However, tragedy strikes when Chandra Shekar arrests a dreaded goon whose men abduct Dhanunjaya Rao’s infant as ransom. During the swap, Chandra Shekar prioritizes his duty and shoots the criminal, leading to the death of Dhanunjaya Rao’s son. This devastates his wife Lakshmi, who lapses into a coma, while Dhanunjaya Rao, frenzied with grief, kills Chandra Shekar’s child in vengeance. Years later, still tormented, he crosses paths with Durga Prasad, a righteous young man who takes on corrupt cops. Impressed, Dhanunjaya Rao employs him to track down and kill his foe’s son. As Durga Prasad grows close to the family, he wins Lakshmi’s affection, restores her health, and earns their trust. Meanwhile, Simbhu Prasad, claiming to be Chandra Shekar’s son, enters but dies in a clash with Durga Prasad. The couple, believing fate has restored their son, accepts Durga Prasad wholeheartedly.

At this point, the truth unfolds—Durga Prasad is in fact a stout-hearted Superintendent of Police, and Simbhu Prasad was his ally in a larger plan. The tale rewinds to a village oppressed by MP Kaaleswara Rao, husband of Dhanunjaya Rao’s sister Chamundeswari. Durga Prasad arrives to defend the villagers, confronting atrocities and falling in love with Hema, daughter of Kulashekar Rao. Despite caste prejudices and Kaaleswara Rao’s tyranny, Hema stands by him, even nursing him back to health after he is gravely injured. On their wedding day, Chamundeswari exposes that Durga Prasad is only a foster son, leading to heartbreak. However, the ultimate revelation strikes—Durga Prasad is actually Chandra Shekar’s elder son, while Simbhu Prasad was the younger, raised apart to protect the family. Their plan was to bring peace to Dhanunjaya Rao’s heart and awaken Lakshmi. In the finale, Durga Prasad defeats Kaaleswara Rao and Chamundeswari, reconciles with Dhanunjaya Rao, and weds Hema.
