Raitu Bidda Story
The film begins in a village where the late Zamindar Jagapati Rao marries Lakshmi Devi after the death of his first wife. Ramu, the valiant son of the first wife, takes care of his half-brother Prasad. He also manages family responsibilities and works to improve the lives of the destitute. Bhushaiah, a vitriolic loan shark, is a tyrant, and Ramu opposes his misdeeds, which sparks animosity. Meanwhile, Shanta, a schoolteacher, strives to civilize the public. Ramu and Shanta admire each other’s ideals and fall in love. Shanta lives with her father, Dharmaiah, and sister, Sarada. Sarada’s husband, Pullaiah, is forthright and works to thwart Bhushaiah. Bhushaiah deceives Dharmaiah into believing Ramu is an impostor, leading to Ramu’s ostracization.
Meanwhile, Prasad falls in love with Radha, Bhushaiah’s benevolent daughter. Ramu arranges their match, but Bhushaiah demands a share of the family assets, which Lakshmi Devi denies. Prasad approaches the Panchayati to contest Bhushaiah’s misconduct. Ramu relinquishes all claims to Prasad and pledges celibacy, which Shanta respects. He then leaves the house, lives among peasants, and forms a cooperative farming association with Shanta’s help. Bhushaiah frames Ramu for a heist, but Lakshmi Devi proves his innocence. Despite this, the villagers turn against Ramu, prompting him to leave. He later teams up with Pullaiah to check Bhushaiah’s misdeeds. Bhushaiah manipulates Prasad into becoming a drunkard, seizes his property, and plots to marry Shanta to settle Dharmaiah’s debt. Ramu foils Bhushaiah’s schemes, protects Shanta, and upholds the family’s honor in various disguises. In the end, Prasad asks Ramu to reclaim his oath, and the movie concludes happily with the marriage of Ramu and Shanta.
