Aha Naa Pellanta Story
The film begins with Krishna Murthy, the son of industrialist Kasthuri Satyanarayana, who annoys everyone with his constant “Autobiography.” Father and son enjoy an ecstatic lifestyle full of cheer and friendship. Once, Krishna Murthy attends his friend’s wedding and meets a charming girl, Padma, where [[Cupid]] strikes. Satyanarayana, however, worries about his son’s marriage, as he wants the match to be decided with the full consent of relatives—since his own love marriage with Rajyam left them ostracized, and he once promised his dying wife he would honor tradition for their son. Krishna Murthy fears telling his father about Padma, lest Satyanarayana kill himself, so he tries anonymous letters, photographs, and other tricks, all thwarted by the loyal Appanna. After much effort, Krishna Murthy succeeds in revealing Padma, which alarms Satyanarayana. Investigating, he discovers Padma is the daughter of Lakshmipati, a miserly man from the next village. Thus, father and son wager that Krishna Murthy must win Lakshmipati’s approval within three months, without revealing his true identity. Krishna Murthy arrives in the village, aided by “Aragundu” Govindu, a bonded laborer, and befriends Subba Rao’s family as a tenant. Soon, a comic tale unfolds as Krishna Murthy earns Lakshmipati’s praise by outdoing him in stinginess, while also preventing Padma’s forced alliance with the wealthy Kukuteswara Rao and his gluttonous brothers. Meanwhile, Lakshmipati’s son Sundaram falls for Subba Rao’s sister Sita, but a status barrier looms, which Krishna Murthy resolves by helping with the bride price. Delighted, Lakshmipati announces Padma’s marriage to Krishna Murthy.
Complications arise when Satyanarayana visits, eager to see the bet fulfilled, but his presence causes suspicion and strife. To protect Padma, Krishna Murthy cleverly links her union to Sundaram’s wedding, but Lakshmipati, blinded by greed, cancels both marriages, falsely accusing Subba Rao of withholding dowry. He humiliates and even assaults Krishna Murthy, prompting an enraged Satyanarayana to expose Lakshmipati’s true colors. Dejected, Krishna Murthy leaves with his father, but midway he insists on trying again with only four days left. He stages a dramatic plan by arranging four suitors—including Kukuteswara Rao—and tricking Lakshmipati into holding a bride-price auction. Greed overtakes Lakshmipati, but Krishna Murthy turns the tide by rallying Subba Rao’s colleagues to mock and pressure him. Just before the wedding, chaos erupts among the suitors, and Padma rebukes her father. Shocked and remorseful, Lakshmipati collapses and repents, vowing to donate all his wealth to the poor. At last, he blesses Padma’s union with Krishna Murthy. Satyanarayana appears proudly, revealing Krishna Murthy’s true identity and hailing his victory. Finally, in a comic twist, Lakshmipati dies and is humorously “reborn” as Krishna Murthy and Padma’s miserly child.
