Akasa Veedhilo Story
The film begins at the New Delhi flying club, where Chandra Shekar “Chandu,” a daring aviator, lives a carefree life performing aerial stunts. His only companion is fellow pilot Suri, while he remains deeply respectful to his mentor, Jagadiswara Rao. Indu, daughter of tycoon Prasada Rao, sneaks into the flying club without her father’s knowledge, determined to learn aviation alongside her best friend, Padma, who happens to be Jagadiswara Rao’s daughter. Jagadiswara Rao assigns Chandu as Indu’s instructor, and their acquaintance quickly turns combative, escalating into daily quarrels. Meanwhile, Suri and Padma fall in love, but Jagadiswara Rao intends to marry Padma to Chandu—though the two see each other as siblings. Matters spiral when Indu slaps Chandu, who, in turn, refuses to land their aircraft until she apologizes. Their stubbornness ends in disaster when birds strike their plane, forcing a crash landing in the Himalayan ranges. Lost in the wilderness, they endure fierce struggles, including a bear attack, during which their enmity transforms into love. Ultimately, Suri and Jagadiswara Rao rescue them, and soon after, Chandu joins the Indian Air Force, while Suri enters Civil Aviation. Both men marry their beloveds, and happiness follows as Padma gives birth to twins, Ram and Lakshman. Indu, unable to conceive after a car accident, is gifted baby Ram by Suri and Padma as a token of their unbreakable friendship.
Years later, the families reunite joyfully to celebrate the twins’ birthday. Tragedy strikes when Lakshman is diagnosed with acute leukemia, requiring a bone marrow transplant from Ram. However, Indu, overly protective, refuses to risk her adopted son and flees to Delhi against Chandu’s wishes. Heartbroken, Chandu issues her a final ultimatum. When Ram himself insists on saving his younger brother, Indu realizes her mistake and returns. Just then, an Indian Airlines flight carrying them is hijacked by ISI militants. Meanwhile, Lakshman’s condition worsens, forcing the government to authorize a “One Man Commando Operation” led by Chandu. In a daring move, Chandu infiltrates the hijacked aircraft, defeats the terrorists, and safely lands the plane. Ram’s transplant saves Lakshman’s life, restoring peace to the family. The film concludes on a triumphant note with the reunion of both families, symbolizing friendship, sacrifice, and love prevailing over adversity.
