Antha Mana Manchike Story
The film begins on a nuptial eve where a young charmer, Jagapati, falls for a lavish woman, Urmila, who dreams of a luxurious world. Determined to win her love, Jagapati learns she is a lecturer in a college. Fortuitously, Jagapati meets with an accident, and Balu, a newly appointed lecturer, is hospitalized and falls unconscious for a few days. Seizing the chance, Jagapati enrolls in his post with the help of his acolyte Babji. However, rapacious Urmila dismisses him, thinking he is a mere bourgeoisie. Meanwhile, Balu recovers, but Jagapati and Babji trick him into believing he has been in a coma for ten years and demote him to a peon. Babji, who lives with his quarrelsome wife Sujikutti, remains jobless and constantly brawls because of his silly deeds. The truth eventually surfaces at the college, and Urmila has Jagapati arrested. Soon, she learns he is the son of tycoon Pichiswara Rao and, seeing an opportunity, accepts his love to secure her future. She convinces Jagapati to marry quickly, fearing his parents might intervene. However, Pichiswara Rao sees through her greed and disowns them. Jagapati takes up a job in a company headed by the charming Nisha and rents a portion of a shared compound. Nisha constantly nags him with demands beyond his means. Meanwhile, Abu, a thief and Jagapati’s neighbor, hides stolen treasure with Urmila before being arrested. Urmila, still manipulative, goads her husband into reconciling with his father, but instead plunges Jagapati into colossal debt. Their quarrels escalate and lead to divorce proceedings. In court, Urmila admits her greed stems from her mother’s tragic death—once the daughter of a millionaire, she died in poverty after marrying a destitute. The judge, however, denies their divorce, declaring that as newlyweds, they must wait a year and live together under the supervision of Aaya Mandhara, bound by seven commandments. Babji and Sujikutti also join them, adding to the chaos.
Soon after, Urmila retrieves her grandfather’s property worth ₹1 crore through his loyal aide Tirupati and son Pasupati, provided she and Jagapati sign the documents together. Urmila schemes to tame Jagapati but fails, so she forges Babji as her husband, sparking a hilarious chain of confusions. Abu returns to reclaim his treasure, but Urmila stalls him until she secures her assets. The roleplay grows absurd as Sujikutti pretends to be Jagapati’s sister and Nisha as his wife, while Pasupati tries to flirt with Sujikutti. The drama unfolds comically, and ultimately, Urmila triumphs in her game. Startlingly, Tirupati reveals he was aware of the deceit all along but allowed it to continue to reunite the couple. Over time, everyone begins detesting Urmila, prompting a transformation in her after deep soul-searching. She rushes to withdraw the divorce appeal, but it is too late—an embittered Jagapati accepts it and prepares to wed Nisha. Distraught, Urmila donates her property and, in despair, consumes poison as an act of repentance. In the climax, Jagapati saves her, revealing it was a staged enactment to test her sincerity. The film ends comically with the birth of their daughter—who inherits Urmila’s sumptuous mindset—signaling that Jagapati’s “game” has only just reopened.
