Appara Oka Nela Thappindi Story

The film begins with a trickster, Appa Rao, who cleverly sells home appliances to the public on installments. For this, he earns the name “Schemes Appa Rao.” Gita, a mischievous young woman, enjoys mocking men and reporting them to her peculiar father, Anjineeya Prasad. He conducts a quirky competition called Kaun Banega Gitapati to determine Gita’s husband, involving silly and unfeasible tasks. Meanwhile, the side story follows three middle-class couples—Mohan Rao & Sumitra, Chalapati & Pankajam, and Bangaraju & Tayaramma—who live in the same compound. Though cordial, the wives constantly grumble about their households and long for their own houses, beyond what their husbands can afford. Amidst this, Gita pranks Appa Rao, but the incident bonds them, and they fall for each other. Appa Rao enters Anjineeya Prasad’s contest and clears the first two rounds. In the final challenge, Anjineeya Prasad demands that Appa Rao build a house within a year to win Gita. Accepting the challenge, Appa Rao lures the three women into “booking” luxurious apartments at low cost, thereby swindling money unbeknownst to their husbands. With these funds, he begins construction. A comic twist follows when Appa Rao is hospitalized, and a mistaken report declares him pregnant. The bizarre news spreads through town, making him a media sensation, and the three women even conduct a baby shower (Seemantham) for him—only for it later to be revealed as a mix-up. Ultimately, Appa Rao completes the project in 11 months, and Anjineeya Prasad agrees to his marriage with Gita.

However, Appa Rao’s fraud comes to light, and the three couples, furious over being cheated, plot to abduct him to recover their money. At this point, another character enters—Appula Appa Rao, a lookalike and welsher, whose life revolves around giving small loans. The three couples mistakenly confront him, while the workers at the construction site simultaneously seize Schemes Appa Rao for unpaid wages. Both groups turn to Anjineeya Prasad, blackmailing him for compensation, leaving everyone baffled. Eventually, the three couples realize that Appula Appa Rao is orchestrating the situation. They follow his guidance until Schemes Appa Rao finally arrives, creating a chaotic but humorous climax. In the end, Appula Appa Rao reveals the act was meant to teach Schemes Appa Rao a lesson. Ashamed yet reformed, Schemes Appa Rao promises to repay all dues. The film concludes happily with the marriage of Schemes Appa Rao and Gita.
