Asthulu Anthasthulu Story
The film begins with a bitter feud between two rival villages, led by arbitrators Kota Tirupati Naidu and Pulikante Papa Rayudu, whose hostility disrupts peace. Once close friends, they part ways after both attempt to assault an innocent woman, who tragically commits suicide. Naidu betrays Rayudu by framing him for the crime, igniting the enmity. Amid this turmoil, Sivaiah, a valiant boatman, strives to prevent violence and maintain harmony. He falls in love with and marries Gowri, the sister-in-law of Naidu’s henchman Gangulu. Around the same time, a timid orphan named Kishtaiah arrives seeking work. Sivaiah shelters him as a brother, and Kishtaiah later becomes an attendant to Naidu. Soon after, Naidu’s daughter Radha returns from her studies, and she falls for Kishtaiah’s innocence. Their budding romance provokes Rayudu to taunt Naidu, who brutally whips Kishtaiah until Sivaiah intervenes. That night, Radha sacrifices her comforts to join Kishtaiah, prompting Sivaiah and Gowri to cross village lines in support. Enraged, Naidu amputates Sivaiah’s hands, seizes the lovers, and frames Kishtaiah with false charges. Radha testifies against him in court, condemning him, which leaves Sivaiah disillusioned.
Time passes, and Kishtaiah is released, hardened into a fearless warrior bent on vengeance. His wrath deepens upon finding Gowri widowed, still tenderly caring for her crippled husband, who is eventually killed by Naidu’s men after they assault her. Kishtaiah then becomes Naidu’s fiercest adversary. Naidu orders Gangulu to kill him, but Radha intervenes, revealing that she lied in court only to save Kishtaiah from her father’s wrath. Overhearing this, Kishtaiah realizes Radha’s true love for him, and their bond rekindles. The villagers unite to support their marriage, which terrifies Naidu. In desperation, he seeks Rayudu’s help and offers Radha’s hand to him to preserve his honor. In a final confrontation, Kishtaiah leads his tribe in an attack but is nearly slain until he courageously weds Radha amidst the chaos. Moved by his bravery, Rayudu acknowledges the power of true love, and Naidu too reforms. The story ends with both Naidu and Rayudu surrendering to the police, restoring peace at last.
