Bhale Dampathulu Story
The film begins with Raja, a carefree but unemployed youth who dreams of a brighter future. In a comic incident, he meets Vani, the strong-willed daughter of millionaire Narayana Swamy, and the two draw closer. Constantly hounded by creditors, Raja is humiliated by debtors until businessman Anand Rao intervenes, rescues him, and offers him a respectable post in his company. Raja and Vani fall in love, but Narayana Swamy opposes their union. However, persuaded by Anand Rao’s integrity, he consents to their marriage and entrusts Raja with charge of his Vizag branch. Meanwhile, Anand Rao encounters his estranged wife Sudha at the airport, and memories resurface. The two were once lovers who defied Sudha’s status-conscious father Jaganatham. When Sudha married Anand Rao against her father’s wishes, they lived happily until pride drove them apart at a family celebration.
Raja and Vani begin their married life in Vizag, where Raja uncovers the fraudulent dealings of their sly manager Maharshi, who pretends to be a wise scholar. To create discord, Maharshi exploits Vani’s vanity and plants suspicions about Raja’s support for his college friend Susheela, a woman burdened with family struggles. Misled, Vani humiliates Susheela, creating a rift with Raja that ends in divorce proceedings. Learning of this, Anand Rao decides to reconcile them. He convinces Sudha to accompany him, posing as an ideal couple, to guide the young pair. Though hesitant at first, Sudha agrees for the sake of Raja and Vani. In a humorous series of events, Anand Rao and Sudha tactically soften Raja and Vani’s egos, slowly rekindling affection between them. At the same time, sparks of love reignite between Anand Rao and Sudha, though they remain unspoken. Narayana Swamy eventually arrives, exposing and dismissing Maharshi, who retaliates by threatening Susheela. Anand Rao intervenes, saves Susheela, and reveals Maharshi’s crimes, clearing Raja’s name. Vani, repentant, seeks Raja’s forgiveness. In the end, both couples reconcile—the young Raja and Vani reunite, while Anand Rao and Sudha quietly rediscover their bond—closing the story on a joyful note.
