Chalaki Mogudu Chadastapu Pellam Story
The film begins with the marriage of Giri and Sita. Sita, guided by the eccentric notions of her grandmother Akhilandeswari, is highly orthodox and constantly nags her husband with rigid customs. Giri, who works for a chit-fund company under Krishna, lives in Hyderabad, where Krishna happily resides with his wife Radha. During an inspection, Sita’s foolishness nearly jeopardizes Giri’s position, but his honesty impresses Krishna, who promotes him to the head office. Seeking rental accommodation, Giri encounters Sandhya, a courtesan, on a train and is instantly infatuated. They check into a hotel, but guilt over betraying Sita makes him retreat. Fate intervenes when a police raid traps them, and to escape, Giri claims Sandhya as his wife before Inspector Ramadasu. Krishna, called as witness, cleverly shelters Giri and Sandhya as his neighbors, forcing Giri to live a double life. Matters escalate when Sita and Akhilandeswari visit, plunging Giri into chaos as he juggles between both “wives” while hiding the truth.
The comedy deepens with subplots: Prasad, Krishna’s brother-in-law, is tortured by his wife Janaki’s terrible poetry; Kannaiah, the laundryman, sings only when she begins reciting; and Kasipati, a guilt-ridden colleague, mistakenly hugs Janaki and spends his days begging Prasad for forgiveness. Meanwhile, Sandhya’s greedy sister Ranganayaki arrives, scheming to exploit Giri and even attempting to seduce Krishna, arousing Radha’s suspicions. Giri, desperate to maintain appearances, falsely paints Krishna as a womanizer before Sita and Akhilandeswari, which fuels further misunderstandings when Akhilandeswari meets Radha. Quarrels erupt, leading Radha to separate from Krishna. Soon after, Giri is forced out of his house by Akhilandeswari’s meddling and checks into a hotel with Sita, where Inspector Ramadasu once again apprehends them. Krishna rushes to the police station, where Giri finally confesses everything. In the end, Ramadasu exposes Sandhya and Ranganayaki’s schemes, arrests them, and releases Giri with a stern warning. Grateful, Giri seeks Krishna’s forgiveness, and the story concludes happily with Krishna reunited with Radha, and Giri reconciled with Sita.
