Dagudumootha Dandakor Story
The film begins in a village where Rajugaru, a respected patriarch, lives with his extended family. He has three sons—Sridhar, Murali, and Hari—and a daughter, Meenakshi. While Sridhar, Murali, and Meenakshi are settled in [[Delhi]], [[Chennai]], and [[Dubai]] respectively, the youngest son Hari remains with his father. Rajugaru dotes on his mischievous granddaughter Bangari, who shares a deep bond with her beloved rooster, Nani. On the eve of the Poleramma festival, the family reunites after years, filling Rajugaru with joy. Since childhood, Siddu, Sridhar’s son, has cherished feelings for his cross-cousin Madhu (Meenakshi’s daughter) and tries to confess his love, while Madhu’s sibling Sunny constantly teases Bangari. During a temple visit, unfortunate incidents occur, which Annapurna, Rajugaru’s wife, recalls are tied to an unfulfilled vow made years earlier—to sacrifice a rooster during the festival. Believing their hardships stem from neglecting the ritual, each family member blames it: Sridhar faces business losses, Murali’s family struggles with childlessness, and Meenakshi’s husband Prakash is wrongly implicated in a crime. Rajugaru therefore insists the vow must be fulfilled at the upcoming festival.
Shockingly, Nani the rooster disappears, throwing the family into panic. In reality, Bangari has hidden her companion in the attic to protect him. Meanwhile, Siddu and Madhu’s love deepens, but conflicts arise as the family quarrels. Sunny discovers Nani’s hiding place and threatens Bangari, but gradually the entire family learns the truth and keeps it secret from Rajugaru, comforted by Bangari’s innocence. On the festival day, Rajugaru learns through Sunny about Bangari’s actions and brings Nani to the altar. Just as the sacrifice is about to take place, the family unites to plead with him, and Rajugaru spares Nani’s life, asking the goddess for forgiveness instead. Miraculously, the family’s troubles resolve: Sridhar’s business thrives, Murali’s wife Suguna conceives, and Prakash is proven innocent. The elders agree to Siddu and Madhu’s marriage once they come of age, while even Sunny is moved by Bangari’s humanity. The film ends on a cheerful note, with Rajugaru’s progeny returning to their hometown and promising to reunite at the next festival, under the message: “If you walk in the right path, all will be well.”
