Devullu Story
The film begins with eminent singer Prashanth, who instantly marries his admirer Nirmala after appreciating her candor in pointing out his flaws. Soon after, Prashanth’s career falters, but Nirmala helps him regain his honor as a composer—only to surpass him in fame. Over time, they are blessed with two children, Chintu and Bhavani, but ego clashes grow alongside their success, straining the marriage. Eventually, they move toward divorce, leaving the children craving parental affection. During this plight, the kids learn from their grandmother that the family’s troubles stem from their parents failing to complete solemn vows at seven holy places. Determined to reunite their parents, the children courageously set out on a spiritual journey. Their first stop is [[Kanipakam]], where they offer the vow “Mudupu” to [[Ganesha|Siddhi Vinayaka]]. There, [[Vahana|Mushika]] explains that all evils follow the edict of [[Kali (asura)|Kali]], who cannot be defeated by gods alone—the only way is through human devotion and faith. Mushika urges them forward while delaying their parents’ divorce case. As they proceed to [[Tirumala]], burglars attack, but [[Venkateswara]] intervenes, touring them through the temple with his consort [[Padmavati|Alamelu Manga]]. The children dedicate their vow “Niluvu Dopidi,” but police, under Kali’s influence, attempt to arrest the deities before they vanish. Meanwhile, Prashanth and Nirmala, discovering the children missing, file a complaint, and the grandmother with her brother Major BM Rao begin tracking them.
The children continue toward [[Bhadrachalam]], where they run out of money, but are comforted by [[Hanuman|Anjineeya]]. [[Rama]], [[Lakshmana]], and [[Sita]] reveal the holy premises and send Anjineeya to escort the children to [[Vijayawada]]. Along the way, a squirrel tears their parents’ divorce papers, delaying the separation. At [[Vijayawada]], a thief steals [[Durga|Kanakadurga]]’s nose stud and hides it in the children’s bag “Eerumudulu.” Unable to perform their vow, they are aided by Goddess Bharmarambika of [[Srisailam]], who guides them to fulfill it, though the thief continues to chase them. Meanwhile, Prashanth and Nirmala begin to transform, realizing their mistakes. Kali, threatened by the children’s persistence, creates obstacles at every step, but they overcome them with willpower. The journey takes them to [[Shirdi]], where [[Sai Baba of Shirdi|Sai Baba]] joyfully plays with them before they move on to [[Sabarimala]]. There, the thief robs their offerings, but [[Ayyappan|Ayyappa]] himself intervenes when the children, devastated, attempt self-sacrifice. At the climax, Prashanth, Nirmala, and the family arrive, finally reconciling. Ayyappa defeats Kali by transforming the children’s immense faith into divine weapons, restores harmony, and blesses the family. The movie ends on a divine note, with Ayyappa resting in the lap of his parents, [[Siva]] and [[Mohini]], symbolizing the triumph of human devotion and family unity.
