Donga Kollu Story
The film begins with Allibilli Anjaneyulu, a middle-class man burdened by family responsibilities and financial troubles. Facing bankruptcy, he decides to sell his city property. One of his tenants is Neeraja, who lives there with her mother Tulasamma and two young siblings. When Anjaneyulu pressures them to vacate, Tulasamma refuses, unable to afford higher rent elsewhere. Determined, Anjaneyulu makes several attempts to evict them, even seeking the help of his cousin Inspector Bellam Appa Rao and legal adviser Lawyer Lankela Shankara Rao—but all efforts fail. Growing desperate, he personally intrudes into the house and makes comical attempts to drive them out. Frustrated, Neeraja calls her maternal uncle, Bombay Dada, a notorious ruffian, to deal with him. Though Anjaneyulu is initially terrified, he bravely drives the gangster away. Soon after, Neeraja consults the same lawyer, Shankara Rao, handing over rental receipts. Through trickery, Anjaneyulu manages to nullify the receipts, take over the house, and move in with his family.
Neeraja is devastated, losing not only her home but also her job, which makes Anjaneyulu reflect on his actions with guilt. On investigating her past, he learns that Neeraja’s father was a hardened criminal who had murdered his own son, prompting Neeraja to send him to prison. Before leaving, the man vowed to kill her. Shocked by her plight, Anjaneyulu repents and decides to return the house to her family. Just then, he discovers that Neeraja’s father has escaped and is after her life. In the climax, Anjaneyulu courageously defeats him and saves Neeraja. Recognizing his true character, Neeraja forgives him. The story ends on a happy note with the marriage of Anjaneyulu and Neeraja.
