Family Story
The film begins with Shankaram and Janaki, parents to four daughters—Kalyani, Kasthuri, Kavitha, and Kamala—and a son, Giri. Shankaram views Giri as his true asset while treating his daughters as burdens. Seeking to dispose of them quickly, he arranges marriages for the first three with unsuitable men: Eeswara Rao, a cook; Ellayya, a corporation worker; and Krishna, an auto driver. While Kalyani and Kasthuri reluctantly comply, the bold Kavitha resists. To trick her, Shankaram lies that Krishna is educated and well-established. The three weddings occur simultaneously, but soon, Eeswara Rao and Ellayya resent Krishna’s authority and expose his truth to Kavitha. Though angered, she eventually agrees to support him and shoulders household responsibilities. Kavitha also finds a job and supports her sisters, who face constant troubles from their husbands. Eeswara Rao and Ellayya later realize they were duped by the marriage broker and demand financial help from Shankaram, who promises to fund their ventures. Meanwhile, Giri arranges a wealthy marriage for himself with an MLA’s daughter.
As greed escalates, the sons-in-law waste money on loans and appearances, causing a major conflict during Giri’s engagement ceremony. Humiliated by the MLA and Giri, the three couples walk out. In rage, Eeswara Rao and Ellayya assault Kalyani and Kasthuri, but Kavitha bravely shelters her sisters. Krishna too turns against her after being provoked by his co-brothers. Heartbroken, Janaki urges Shankaram to honor his financial promise to the daughters’ families, but he refuses, entrusting everything to Giri. Unable to bear the betrayal, Janaki dies. Eventually, Shankaram realizes Giri’s true selfishness when his son disowns and humiliates him. Determined to restore honor, Shankaram fixes a wealthy alliance for his youngest daughter Kamala, but Giri refuses to help and throws them out. Supported by their wives, the three daughters and their husbands reconcile, unite, and together perform Kamala’s marriage grandly. In the climax, the MLA and Giri attack, but the daughters defend their father, forcing Shankaram to confront his mistakes. Finally, remorseful, Shankaram declares his daughters as his true heirs and shares the property equally. The film ends on a happy note with the family’s reunion.
