Gaduggai Story
The film begins in a village where Gopi (also called Pandu), a mischievous young man, is lovingly raised by his grandparents, Bhushaiah and Parvathamma. Though doted upon, he constantly irritates the villagers with his pranks and draws the wrath of the ruthless loan shark Papa Rao, to whom Bhushaiah is heavily indebted. Meanwhile, in the city, Amala, the daughter of wealthy tycoon Koteswara Rao and niece of Papa Rao, visits the village. Initially clashing with Gopi, she later begins to admire him after he protects her from danger. Tragedy strikes when Koteswara Rao dies, leaving his entire fortune to Amala and appointing his loyal lawyer, Chidanandam, as her guardian. Greedy relatives, including her maternal uncle Gandabherundam and paternal aunt Kanthamma, conspire to seize her wealth by marrying her off to their sons, Prasad and Buchi. At the same time, Bhushaiah arranges Gopi’s marriage, but Papa Rao sabotages it by branding Gopi a drunkard and driving him from the village. Homeless and dejected, Gopi reaches the city, where Chidanandam takes him in, and Amala secretly helps to reform him into a polished, capable young man. In time, love blossoms between them.
Amala hires Gopi as her secretary, hiding their closeness, while he cleverly ridicules and foils the greedy schemers. Meanwhile, Papa Rao evicts Bhushaiah and Parvathamma, forcing them to wander in search of their grandson. When Gopi humiliates Gandabherundam, the latter secretly joins hands with Papa Rao, who identifies Gopi and captures the old couple, blackmailing him to abandon Amala. Under pressure, Gopi withdraws, and the villains attempt to marry Amala off to Prasad. Betrayed by her allies, Kanthamma finally exposes Gandabherundam, confessing that he murdered Koteswara Rao after being caught in his fraud. In the climax, Gopi fights back, rescues his grandparents, and brings down Papa Rao and the conspirators. The story ends on a happy note with Gopi and Amala’s marriage, uniting love, justice, and family.
