Gully Rowdy Story

The film begins in [[Vizag]], where CI Raghu Nayak points his gun at Vasu and Head Constable Pattapagalu Venkatrao on a beach. At this moment, Vasu’s memories rewind to his lineage: he is the grandson of justice-seeking rowdy Meesala Simhachalam. A monstrous goon, Bairagi Naidu, covets Simhachalam’s power and schemes to take control of the city. When Simhachalam publicly humiliates him, Bairagi’s ally suggests grooming young Vasu, a bright student, into a feared rowdy in the absence of an heir. Though reluctant and pained by the thought, Vasu accepts the path for his grandfather’s sake. Years pass, and Vasu matures into a formidable force, while Bairagi rises higher in the crime world with his son Nandu, wreaking havoc across society. During this time, Vasu meets Sahitya, a software employee and Venkatrao’s daughter, and soon falls in love. Sahitya’s family, however, faces hardship when their land value rises to {{INRConvert|2|c}}, attracting Bairagi’s greed. Bairagi intimidates them and settles the matter violently for only {{INRConvert|50000}}. Determined to help, Vasu joins forces with Sahitya’s family to kidnap Bairagi and ransom him for their rightful money. They plan meticulously, but Bairagi senses the trap and captures them instead. Shockingly, a masked man suddenly shoots Bairagi point-blank. The family escapes with their money but inadvertently leaves behind incriminating evidence—shoes, fingerprints, spectacles, and hair—soon analyzed by the forensic lab. Authorities reappoint Raghu Nayak, a suspended but ruthless cop, to investigate. Meanwhile, Simhachalam mistakenly believes Vasu has killed Bairagi and rejoices, only to be shaken when he learns otherwise. At the same time, Sahitya realizes the depth of Vasu’s love and reciprocates.

Vasu begins tampering with forensic evidence through Venkatrao while secretly tracking Nayak by planting a bug in his shoe. In a surprising turn, they discover Nayak is actually Bairagi’s second wife’s son, a fact unknown to the world, and that he has long awaited vengeance for his father’s atrocities. Nayak continues his investigation, suspecting both Vasu and Venkatrao, and holds them under constant threat. Meanwhile, Nandu captures Venkatrao’s family. Thinking fast, Vasu manipulates events to frame Nandu as Bairagi’s true killer, capitalizing on Nayak’s sensitive knowledge of his parentage. Believing the ruse, Nayak teams up with Vasu and Venkatrao to confront Nandu. In the ensuing clash, Nayak shoots Nandu dead, convinced of his guilt. Eventually, as Vasu and Sahitya prepare to wed, Simhachalam overhears Vasu confessing that he killed Bairagi and even his own father in what was believed to be an accident. Vasu admits the truth to his grandfather, who, hating the life of rowdyism, refuses to let him glorify the murder. Instead, Simhachalam releases Vasu from the legacy of violence, urging him to lead his life on his own terms. The movie ends on a comic note, with Venkatrao carrying Vasu into a new settlement to begin afresh.
