Lingababu Love Story Story
The film begins in a colony where Lingababu, a cowardly yet kindhearted man, is friendly with his neighbors—owner Jayalakshmi, Velu Pille, Maamullu, Chakram, and Margaret. They all lead modest middle-class lives, struggling to make ends meet. Determined to improve their lot, Lingababu dreams of starting a mobile canteen that involves everyone and approaches Bank Manager Ambhujam for a loan. Since the scheme is meant only for disabled applicants, Lingababu and his gang fake qualifications and manage to secure it, soon running a thriving business. Meanwhile, Pentapaadu Raja, a bankrupt titular king, pressures Lingababu to sell his successful venture. Around the same time, Lingababu helps Raaga in a comical incident and falls in love with her. She, too, eventually reciprocates after he inadvertently appears heroic—such as stopping a bank robbery and diffusing a bomb in his sleep. They marry, but Lingababu soon learns Raaga is under threat from dreaded criminal Pakir Dada, who was convicted of murder on her testimony. Terrified, Lingababu panics further when Pakir Dada escapes prison. In a fateful encounter, Pakir Dada coerces Lingababu into paying ₹5 lakhs within 48 hours. Desperate, Lingababu agrees to sell his business to Pentapaadu Raja, but complications arise when the buyer suddenly dies.
Helpless, Lingababu pleads for time as the police close in on Pakir Dada, enraging him further and setting him against Lingababu. Paralyzed by fear, Lingababu secretly hires a Chinese martial arts expert, Yamaguchi, to protect them, only to waste all his money indulging the man’s luxuries. On the eve of confrontation, Yamaguchi collapses drunk, leaving Lingababu defenseless. Overwhelmed with guilt, he admits his cowardice to Raaga. Just then, Pakir Dada storms into the colony, attacking and attempting to assault Raaga. In that critical moment, Lingababu’s courage awakens—he rises to the occasion, fights back, and defeats Pakir Dada. At last, Lingababu apologizes to Raaga, who acknowledges his true valor. The movie ends on a happy note with Lingababu reconciled with his wife and continuing his cheerful life alongside his loyal gang. Released: 4th March 1995
