Mama Alludu Story
The film opens with the grand launch of a book, Bhartanu Longadisukotam Ela (“How to Grip Your Husband”), written by the proud and domineering Bhavani Devi. Convinced of her own success, she publicly flaunts her marital philosophy, though in reality her husband, Rajeswara Prasad, is a sly philanderer who keeps her under illusion while pursuing his vices. The couple has a daughter, Jaya. Meanwhile, Vijay, an honest yet unemployed young man, wins Jaya’s admiration with his integrity. He later joins Rajeswara Prasad’s office and earns his trust. Bhavani Devi’s rival, Chamundeswari Devi, envies her fame and challenges her methods. In response, Bhavani Devi declares that she will tame even a virtuous but poor groom for Jaya into a submissive husband. By then, love has already blossomed between Vijay and Jaya. Recognizing Vijay as the son of his old friend Ramadasu, Rajeswara Prasad supports their marriage out of gratitude. Bhavani Devi organizes a Swayamvaram, and though Rajeswara Prasad urges Vijay to pretend he reveres Bhavani Devi’s book, Vijay refuses to lie. Still, he agrees to the wedding but vows to reveal the truth later, sparking a philosophical clash with his father-in-law: honesty versus cunning pragmatism. They bet six months to prove whose principle sustains marriage.
After the wedding, Jaya, trained by her mother, tries to dominate her husband, while Vijay insists on openness, leading to frequent quarrels that Rajeswara Prasad cleverly patches up. Matters worsen when Vijay helps his secretary Leela, the sole provider for her family. Jaya, goaded by Bhavani Devi, misinterprets their relationship and humiliates Leela, who attempts suicide. Though Vijay saves her, the rift with Jaya deepens, and their marriage collapses into divorce. At this turning point, Rajeswara Prasad unmasks his own hypocrisy, shattering Bhavani Devi’s delusions. Jaya realizes Vijay’s true worth, but it is too late—Leela has died, crushed by their arrogance. Vijay denounces them for driving her to her grave and prepares to dedicate himself to her family’s welfare. Remorseful, Jaya pleads forgiveness and begs to accompany him. Rajeswara Prasad reunites the couple, promising to bear Leela’s responsibilities. When Bhavani Devi tries to interfere again, Rajeswara Prasad finally revolts, condemning her hollow ideology. In repentance, she tears up her book, admitting her folly. The film closes on a reconciled note, with the family reunited and the true meaning of marriage reaffirmed.
