Master Kapuram Story
The film begins with David, a Christian schoolteacher, and Geeta, an orthodox Brahmin Hindu teacher, who marry across religions. Their families ostracize them, yet the couple build a loving home, balancing traditions with mutual respect. Geeta soon gives birth to a baby boy, and in their joy they invite both families, hoping for reconciliation. Instead, differences in customs grow day by day, turning into clashes over religious practices. Tensions reach a peak when both sides forcibly try to claim the child through their rituals—Baptism and Nāmakaraṇa. Amidst the uproar, Geeta rebels against the divisions, names the baby Kranti at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue, and asserts his identity beyond caste and creed.
The decision sparks an ego clash between husband and wife, as both argue over the child’s future. Distraught, Geeta even contemplates self-sacrifice, but David realizes the deception of their families and rushes to save her, reaffirming his love. At their lowest point, both witness how superstition and fanaticism threaten to tear their child apart. In a powerful moment, David condemns the prejudices of caste and religion, proclaiming humanity as the highest faith. Finally, the couple reunite, vowing to raise Kranti as a symbol of unity, free from societal norms and religious divides.
