Mayalodu Story

The film begins with the ruthless Appalakonda, who murders his own sister and brother-in-law to usurp their wealth. Their infant daughter, Puppy, escapes the tragedy. The story then shifts to Veerababu, a guerrilla street magician known for his miraculous tricks, which he never misuses. He loyally follows his childhood friend, Pandu, though Pandu often complains about Veerababu’s miserly habits, as he deposits every rupee with the moneylender Padmanabham. During one of his shows, Veerababu encounters Puppy, who is fleeing from Appalakonda, and takes her in, entrusting her care to his grandmother. Veerababu grows deeply attached to Puppy, showering her with affection. However, tragedy strikes when Puppy loses her eyesight in an accident. The cost of her surgery is ₹50,000, which Veerababu struggles to arrange. Meanwhile, Padmanabham’s mischievous daughter, Sri, constantly teases men around her, even tricking SI Anandam in a dine-and-dash prank. Chanti, Appalakonda’s foolish son, pursues Sri with proposals, but she mocks him. Later, Sri crosses paths with Veerababu, and after a comical confrontation, they fall in love. Chanti, aware of Sri’s fascination with magic, pushes his father to seek lessons from Veerababu, unknowingly bringing him closer to Appalakonda’s reach.

On the same day, Padmanabham refuses Veerababu’s request for money, disapproving of his romance with Sri. Determined, Veerababu takes what is rightfully his, but Appalakonda kills Padmanabham, steals the wealth, and frames Veerababu. Wrongfully convicted, Veerababu is sentenced to life imprisonment. Meanwhile, Puppy is targeted by Appalakonda, who has SI Anandam in his pocket. In a series of escapes and comic twists—including Pandu tricking Chanti into a grotesque skeleton disguise—Veerababu’s grandmother and Pandu protect Puppy until Veerababu, using his occult powers, breaks free from prison. With his magic, he defeats Appalakonda’s men, rescues his family, and secures money for Puppy’s surgery. The doctor warns that Veerababu must be present when Puppy regains her sight, or the operation will fail. Misled, Sri helps Appalakonda abduct Puppy, but Veerababu outsmarts them with Chanti’s accidental help, appearing before Puppy at the crucial moment. She regains her vision, and in the final battle, Veerababu uses his mystical skills to defeat Appalakonda and force his confession in court. Sri, regretful of her mistakes, reconciles with him. The movie ends happily, with Veerababu once again performing street shows—this time alongside his family.
