Mee Sreyobhilashi Story
The film begins in Hyderabad, where a kindhearted man, Rajaji, brings together a group of strangers who are each broken by life in different ways: an old couple, Raghuram and Lakshmi, neglected by their children; Ramakrishna, a cancer patient; Chitila Chinna Rao, a failed chit-fund owner; Vinod, heartbroken in love; Amala, oppressed by dowry harassment; young lovers Kiran and Sandhya, whose families disapprove of their marriage; and Chandu, a failed student. Rajaji, sitting on a bench at Tank Bund, encounters bankrupt film producer Surya Prakash Reddy, who is attempting suicide. He takes him in and then gathers the rest of the troubled souls, proposing a collective suicide by bus—driving off the cliffs of Srisailam the next day. Outraged, Ramakrishna calls Rajaji a murderer and vows to stop him, but Rajaji insists on his plan. That night, Rajaji reveals his own grief: his daughter Swapna had sacrificed her life in unrequited love, leaving him broken. He hires a drunkard driver, Mallesh, who also longs for death because of family troubles, to drive the bus.
By morning, everyone but Ramakrishna boards the bus. Unknown to them, Ramakrishna dies in an accident, and his diary exposing the “mass suicide” plan leaks to the media, prompting the government to assign ACP Sunil to stop it. As the group travels, Rajaji cleverly uses the journey to show his companions the true meaning of life—its joys, sorrows, struggles, and worth. Gradually, he reconciles their conflicts and inspires them to abandon despair. Just as they realize the beauty of living, news of Ramakrishna’s death devastates them further, but they still press on to avoid the police. At the cliffside, Rajaji finally reveals his intent: the journey was never about dying but about transforming their outlook on life. The group rejoices, ready to return, but tragedy strikes when the bus’s brakes fail. Rajaji saves everyone but falls from the cliff himself. At the last moment, ACP Sunil arrives by helicopter and rescues him, leaving his companions overjoyed. In the end, Rajaji is back on his bench, restarting his mission to save lost souls, with the film closing on the message: “Hardship is like a passing cloud, but life once lost cannot be regained.”
