Pekata Papa Rao Story
The film begins with Papa Rao, a master poker player who makes his living through gambling. One day, he meets Uma, a charming woman who flirts with him, but he falls for her sincerely. Unknown to him, Uma is actually a police officer investigating a notorious fraudster who deceives women with false promises of marriage. The only clue is a mole on the culprit’s thigh. Eventually, Uma catches Sivaji, but she also discovers that the true mastermind is Meesala Gundaiah, a ruthless club owner. Uma confronts Gundaiah, who vows revenge. Papa Rao and Uma later marry, concealing their respective professions. On their wedding night, Gundaiah frames Papa Rao for illegal betting, leading Uma to arrest him. Afterward, Uma pleads with Papa Rao to give up gambling, while he insists she resign from her police job. This sparks a clash, and they set a challenge: Papa Rao must touch Uma within a month, with the loser bound to obey the other—resulting in many comedic incidents.
Meanwhile, Gundaiah exploits Papa Rao’s weaknesses through Sivaji, causing his downfall. When Papa Rao confronts Sivaji in anger, the latter is believed dead, and matters worsen. Gundaiah then tries to blackmail Uma, claiming Sivaji is alive, and demands a night with her. Aware of the truth, Papa Rao steps in, defeats Gundaiah, and clears his own name with Uma’s support. In the end, Papa Rao reforms, abandoning gambling. The couple is blessed with a baby boy, and the film concludes on a humorous note when the newborn instinctively grabs a set of playing cards during his naming ceremony.
