Rajendrudu Gajendrudu Story
The film begins in a forest, where its officer rears an elephant called Gajendra beyond his own progeny. A notorious poacher conducts a high-level trafficking racket, which the forest officer hinders. So, the poacher assassinates him, which Gajendra witnesses and seeks vengeance for. The tale then shifts to the city, where Rajendra, an artful youth with his acolyte Gundu, spends his time with wit. Kotilingam, their skinflint house owner, tries to force them to pay rent, but they trick him by handing him over to a mental hospital and the police station in a single day. Parallelly, Alaka, Kotilingam’s daughter, arrives, and her acquaintance with Rajendra begins with a misunderstanding—she mistakes him for a thief and batters him. Kotilingam, unable to bear Rajendra’s torture, attempts to vacate him forcibly. Meanwhile, Rajendra has a habit of buying lottery tickets, and one day Gundu suddenly announces he has won a bumper special prize. Rajendra rushes and startles to find that the “winning” is actually the elephant Gajendra. Though Rajendra initially turns it down, Gundu provokes him, and he agrees to keep Gajendra as their mascot. From there, Rajendra gamely gimmicks with Gajendra. He dupes Kotilingam into believing that the elephant’s dung is precious, prompting Kotilingam to collect it secretly every day. Next, they muddle a hotel owner, Murugan, into giving them a large meal; when he boots them out, Gajendra demolishes his hotel but blesses Murugan’s infant. Above all, Rajendra betrays a bank manager to obtain a loan, claiming he will sell male elephant’s milk. Meanwhile, a seller named Ammadu, who knits his cousin and fails in various businesses, roams around gibbering “Chata,” further adding to the comic chaos.
As the story unfolds, Gajendra intensifies the squabbles between Rajendra and Alaka until they blossom into love. During this trial, Alaka pains Gajendra by nailing his leg in reprisal, but after he saves her from goons, she comprehends his virtue and falls for Rajendra. Soon after, Rajendra falls into heavy debt and cannot repay the bank loan, leading the manager to seize Gajendra. Furious, Rajendra expels Gajendra, but later the elephant proves his worth by securing market merchants from dreadful ruffians. The grateful merchants allot Rajendra a neighborhood shop, and Gajendra becomes his soulmate. Once, Gajendra is badly hurt while saving Murugan’s daughter from an accident, but Rajendra recoups him with idolization. Together, they help Murugan re-establish his hotel. Eventually, Gajendra detects the poacher who once killed the forest officer, which terrifies the villain. At the same time, Kotilingam tries to stop Rajendra and Alaka’s love affair, scheming that Rajendra must quit Gajendra in exchange for his daughter’s hand. Rajendra, however, stands firm, refusing to abandon Gajendra, though he quietly walks away in gratitude. Soon, blackguards abduct Gajendra, and the poacher attempts to slay him, but Rajendra shields his friend, and together they defeat the villains. Finally, the movie ends happily with the marriage of Rajendra & Alaka, who embrace Gajendra as part of their family.
