Rambantu Story
The film begins with the hunting of a generous Zamindar, Raja Ramachandra Prasad, who is saved by a tribal warrior sacrificing his life. Before dying, the warrior entrusts his young son, Rambantu, to the Zamindar’s care. Raised in the household, Rambantu grows into a loyal and selfless aide, though despised by the Zamindar’s wife Indrani, who constantly humiliates him. Despite being illiterate, Rambantu possesses an eidetic memory and a rare talent for naturopathy. The Zamindar’s two sons become wayward, while his virtuous stepdaughter Kaveri is mistreated by Indrani, with Rambantu as her only protector. Meanwhile, a cunning conman, Gireesam, enters the household posing as a celebrated celebrity. With deceitful schemes, he wins their trust, plunders ancestral treasures, and gradually takes control. His sinister eye soon falls on Kaveri, but Rambantu stands in his way. To eliminate them, Gireesam manipulates Kaveri’s horoscope, declaring she is cursed to cause her husband’s death. Branded inauspicious, she attempts suicide, but Rambantu saves her and marries her by tying the mangalasutram to break the stigma. Gireesam twists this act as a fraud, leading the Zamindar to banish both Rambantu and Kaveri.
In the city, the couple struggles, starting a small business, while Gireesam swindles the Zamindar’s wealth, seizes Indrani’s dowry, and even traps the youngest daughter, Jayasri, through his henchman Raana. Realizing the betrayal too late, the Zamindar collapses in despair. Meanwhile, Rambantu rescues a wealthy man, Ambiraju, with his naturopathy skills, earning admiration and an opportunity to establish a holistic healing institute. Through dedication, he becomes a prosperous tycoon. Though Kaveri loves him dearly, Rambantu distances himself, believing her cursed horoscope destined her for another man after his death. When the impoverished Zamindar approaches Ambiraju for help, he learns of Rambantu’s success and noble intentions. Determined, Rambantu confronts Gireesam, recovers the Zamindar’s lost fortune, and reforms the misled family. In the climax, Gireesam launches a violent assault to seize the Zamindar’s estate, but Rambantu defeats him. Finally, it is revealed that Kaveri’s horoscope was fabricated, and Rambantu’s sacrifice was needless. With Gireesam vanquished, the Zamindar acknowledges Rambantu’s loyalty, declares him his rightful son-in-law, and unites him with Kaveri.
