Sahasam Cheyara Dimbhaka Story
The film begins with Chandram, a thrill-seeking young man whose daring lifestyle constantly lands him in turmoil. He falls in love with Saroja, the daughter of stage artist Harmonium Hanumantha Rao, who demands a reverse dowry of ₹1 lakh. Determined, Chandram struggles to raise the money but fails, until his house owner Gomukham suggests he could triple his earnings in horse races if he first secures ₹50,000. Around the same time, Chandram’s employer Chidambaram entrusts him with ₹5 lakhs, considering him loyal. Tempted, Chandram steals ₹50,000 from it. Shockingly, the entire sum goes missing the next day, leaving him in deep crisis. Matters worsen when his colleague Rita learns the truth. Though Chandram pleads for silence, Rita, who has the odd habit of recording everything she sees and hears in her diary, unwittingly threatens him. Sensing danger, Chandram locks her in his room—only to discover in horror that she has died mysteriously. Terrified, he disposes of her body after much struggle. Later, he confides in Kalpana, who recalls Rita’s diary habit. Unknown to Chandram, the diary has slipped into his pocket. Soon, the police catch him and Hanumantha Rao red-handed, though they manage to escape.
Kalpana seeks help from private detective Mr. Pond, who investigates and initially uncovers that Chidambaram’s brother-in-law is behind the theft. Meanwhile, Chandram and Hanumantha Rao, both fugitives in disguise, get entangled in comic situations while trying to evade capture. In a shocking twist, Rita’s diary surfaces, revealing that the real culprit is none other than Harmonium Hanumantha Rao himself. Far from the innocent stage artist he appears to be, Hanumantha Rao is a gangster who commits crimes under the mask of his entertainer persona. Rita had witnessed one of his murders, prompting him to kill her as well. In the climax, Chandram exposes and defeats Hanumantha Rao, bringing him to justice. The story concludes happily with Chandram marrying Kalpana.
