Samsaram Story
The film begins with Raja Shekaram, a strict and authoritarian tycoon, who lives happily with his wife Lakshmi and three children. His elder son Hari and daughter Radha follow in his footsteps, but he disowns his second son, Ravi, who works as a laborer in his own factory and finds joy in simple living. Ravi falls in love with Gowri, an orphan, and with the help of their trusted insider Gopalam, he arranges for her to work as a servant in the household. Meanwhile, Raja Shekaram arranges Radha’s marriage with a well-educated young man, Kumar. Soon after, he discovers Ravi’s love affair, expels him from the family, and Ravi marries Gowri. For his own gain, the manipulative union leader Seshagiri (Seshu) stirs trouble in the factory, dragging Ravi into the conflict and deepening the rift between father and son. To resolve the labor disputes, the government appoints a special officer, Padmavathi—who shocks Raja Shekaram, for she was once his first love. He reveals to Lakshmi that they had been lovers in their student years, but fate had compelled him to marry Lakshmi for the sake of his sibling.
Lakshmi, upon learning the truth, forgives Padmavathi but feels heartbroken, believing her life was built on a wrong choice, and soon she dies. Raja Shekaram is left devastated and alone, and Padmavathi also withdraws from his life. Seeking support, he turns to his elder son Hari, but finds him too preoccupied. Meanwhile, Kumar, now occupying his household, abandons him as well. At last, Ravi rises to defend his father’s honor, proving his worth and loyalty. Raja Shekaram finally realizes the virtue of his disowned son and reconciles. The film ends on a hopeful note, with Raja Shekaram spending the remainder of his life in peace with Ravi and Gowri by his side.
