Tholu Bommlata Story
The film begins with Somaraju, also known as Sodala Raju, a highly respected elder in his village who lives a joyful life with the townsfolk. His son Murali and daughter Janaki rarely visit, but one day his grandchildren, Rushi and Varsha, arrive seeking his support for their marriage, as both of their families oppose the match. Overjoyed, Somaraju promises to unite them, declaring it his final wish. He even convinces his children to agree. Tragically, Somaraju passes away the very next day, and disputes erupt among the elders over wealth. Ego clashes soon tear Rushi and Varsha apart as well, shattering the harmony Somaraju wished to preserve.
Bound to his family until the completion of the 12-day funeral rites, Somaraju’s spirit lingers restlessly, witnessing the growing discord. Determined to restore peace, he teams up with his distant relative Santosh, who possesses the divine gift of communicating with spirits. With Santosh’s help, Somaraju orchestrates a series of events to dissolve misunderstandings, heal rifts, and reconcile both his feuding family members and the separated young couple. Ultimately, his efforts bear fruit—Rushi and Varsha reunite, the family reconciles, and Somaraju’s soul finds liberation on the 12th day. The film closes with a poignant message affirming the enduring value of love, unity, and human relationships.
