Ulta Palta Story
The film is a tale of two sets of identical twins—owners and acolytes—whose names are also the same, Raja & Ramu, whom destiny detaches in childhood. One pair settles in the city, another in the village; both are conscious of their siblings but fail to find their whereabouts. Raja-1 is a proud industrialist well-known in the entire city. He resides with his spouse Radha, sister-in-law Swati, and Ramu-1. Anyhow, Raja-1 is constantly haunted by Radha because an amour, Mohini, clutches him for his wealth. Vexed, Raja-1 storms out hungry and reaches Mohini. On the contrary, her cousin Kumar sincerely loves Mohini, but she detests him, though he is determined to win her. The story shifts to a political party office, where arch-rivalry brews between President Bala Tripura Sundari and Vice President Narayana’s wife, Baby. As it is time to elect a new president, Raja-1 is under consideration, so both Bala Tripura & Baby intend to uphold him. Meanwhile, Raja-2 & Ramu-2 arrive, and confusion ensues since everyone mistakes them for the city pair. From there, the two sets begin swapping interactions, leading to humorous consequences. Raja-1 vows to gift Mohini a gold chain he has already ordered. At the jeweler’s, Marwadi Seth delays him but later gives it to Raja-2 by mistake. Soon, VP meets Raja-2 to discuss elections, but Raja-2 rebuffs him. Later, he meets Baby, and they both encounter Raja-1, who accepts to contest. Swati sends Ramu-1 to fetch Raja-1 for lunch, but he mistakes Raja-2, receives a slap, and departs sulking. Radha weeps until Swati consoles her, then they both drag Raja-2 & Ramu-2 home by mistake. Inside, Bala Tripura Sundari presses Raja-2 to avoid contesting, while Raja-1 arrives outside with a friend, only to be insulted when the women lock the doors on him. Amidst all this, Raja-2 begins to fall for Swati, but she misreads his advances.
Following this, Raja-2 and Ramu-2 quietly slip out and run into Mohini, who fumes at Raja-2’s silly words, believing he is betraying her. Accordingly, she approaches Radha, but Swati humbles her with sharp words. At last, Mohini realizes Kumar’s sincerity, seeks his pardon, and reconciles. Meanwhile, Bala Tripura Sundari & Baby become tangled in repeated yes-and-no assurances from the “two Rajas.” Raja-1 returns for the chain, but Seth insists he already handed it over, escalating the matter into a police case. Raja-1 then sends Ramu-2 to fetch the amount from home, which he does after a muddle. On his way back, Raja-2 intercepts him, fumbles, and decides to walk away. Due to delays, Raja-1 encounters Ramu-1 returning from the movies, mistakes him for a thief, and thrashes him. The household then recounts all the confusions of the day, and the women assume Raja & Ramu have gone insane, locking them up. But when they notice the other pair outside, chaos erupts as both sets are revealed. At last, everyone converges at the police station, where the long-lost siblings reunite. Raja-1 apologizes to Radha, and Raja-2 proposes to Swati. Finally, the movie ends happily.
