Muddula Mavayya Story
The film begins in a village ruled by Zamindar Ranga Rao, a tyrant who schemes to seize the land for his liquor factory. A newly appointed inspector arrives but is quickly silenced by bribes, siding with Ranga Rao. He then focuses on Raja, a criminal serving time for murder, filing a case against him. Meanwhile, Ranga Rao continues to oppress the villagers, but Raja resists him with courage, openly challenging his tyranny. Questioned by the inspector, Raja recounts his past: he was a devoted brother to Lakshmi after the siblings were orphaned in childhood. To support them, Raja became a pickpocket, but his heart softened when he fell in love with Vidya. Lakshmi, meanwhile, confronted Ranga Rao’s atrocities against the villagers but, despite Raja’s warnings, stood her ground. Ranga Rao retaliated by conspiring with his son Chinna, who deceived Lakshmi with false love, married her in secret, and later abandoned her.
Lakshmi, heartbroken and pregnant, discovered Chinna’s betrayal and Ranga Rao’s villainy. When she confronted them, she was brutally stabbed, and an enraged Raja killed Chinna in retaliation. Before dying, Lakshmi gave birth to a son and made Raja promise to liberate the oppressed villagers. With Vidya’s help, Raja embraced his nephew and began his mission. Ranga Rao, however, kidnapped the child to force the villagers into submission. In the ensuing conflict, the inspector, redeemed by guilt, sacrificed his life to protect the child. In the climax, Raja fulfills his vow, defeats Ranga Rao, and ends his reign of terror. The film closes on a poignant note, with Raja making his nephew—Lakshmi’s son—perform the funeral rites of Ranga Rao, symbolizing justice and closure.
