Oo Kodathara Ulikki Padathara Story
The film begins in the heritage palace Gandharva Mahal, the ancestral home of the Rudramaneni dynasty. Its current heir, Rayudu, has lost his splendor and now lives in the outhouse with his wife and two daughters, Visalakshi and Jagadhamba. To make ends meet, he rents out portions of the palace to tenants of different temperaments, many of whom exploit his generosity.
Into this world arrives Manoj, an energetic young man who becomes a tenant and unsettles the scheming boarders with his clever tricks. He notices an old insane beggar, Amurtha Valli, who haunts the palace surroundings. Manoj quickly earns Rayudu’s trust, helps arrange Visalakshi’s marriage, and persuades the unruly tenants to vacate the palace. Meanwhile, his constant quarrels with Jagadhamba turn into affection.
One night, Rayudu is found battered and bleeding, and Manoj claims that the palace itself struck him under the influence of a supernatural power. Alarmed, Rayudu recalls the tale of his father, Rudramaneni Narasimha Rayudu, a revered arbiter once worshipped by the people. Years ago, Narasimha Rayudu doted on his sister Jagadhamba and, honoring his father’s word, married her to the devious Phanindra Bhupati. Bhupati betrayed the family, seized Gandharva Mahal through deceit, and lusted after Amrutha, his sister-in-law. When she rejected him, he murdered his wife Jagadhamba, staged it as suicide, and tried to wed Amrutha inside the palace. Enraged, Narasimha Rayudu fought Bhupati, but was betrayed and slain. Before dying, he cursed that Gandharva Mahal would remain his forever. Broken by guilt, Amrutha became a wandering beggar.
Back in the present, preparations for Visalakshi’s marriage are underway. But Rushi’s uncle Bujji, a cunning schemer, plans to grab the palace and convert it into a hotel. Narasimha Rayudu’s spirit manifests, terrifying Bujji and thwarting his plans. To counter the haunting, Bujji brings a wizard, who confirms that both Narasimha Rayudu and Bhupati’s spirits linger in the Mahal. Guided by Narasimha Rayudu’s instructions, the wizard traps Bhupati’s violent spirit in a vessel.
Meanwhile, Rayudu learns of Manoj’s love for Jagadhamba and invites his family. It is revealed that Manoj is the grandson of Seshayya, Narasimha Rayudu’s loyal aide who died protecting him. Manoj confides to Jagadhamba that his earlier supernatural acts were staged to protect the palace. However, Bujji overhears, attacks Manoj, and, believing the wizard to be a fraud, shatters the vessel, releasing Bhupati’s spirit. The spirit possesses Rushi, creating havoc.
In the final battle, Narasimha Rayudu’s spirit channels through Manoj’s body to fight Bhupati. To end the cycle, Amurtha sacrifices her life, redeeming Bhupati’s soul. Peace is restored as both couples—Manoj with Jagadhamba, and Rushi with Visalakshi—are married.
The film closes with Manoj glimpsing Narasimha Rayudu seated on a chair, calmly smoking a cigar, a reminder that he will forever protect Gandharva Mahal.
