Palnati Puli Story

The film begins in a town where two corrupt men—Mukundam, an advocate, and his brother-in-law Bhupati—carry out their malpractices with cunning. Raju, a rickshaw driver and labor union leader, is loved by his entire colony for his courage and compassion. He constantly opposes the misdeeds of Mukundam and Bhupati, and often quarrels with Rani, Bhupati’s daughter, though the clashes eventually turn into love. Learning of this, Bhupati investigates Raju’s background and discovers that he is the son of Parvati, wife of their henchman Kannaiah, who is in prison. Twisting the facts, Mukundam and Bhupati manipulate events so that Kannaiah is released and turned against Raju. Kannaiah attacks Parvati, tarnishing her honor, while she reveals that Raju was not born during Kannaiah’s time in prison. Heartbroken, Raju demands the truth from Parvati, and she finally discloses that she is only his foster mother. His real mother is Sarada, a woman once entrapped by Mukundam, who tried to kill her after his lustful advances. Sarada survived and entrusted Raju to Parvati’s care.

Shaken by this revelation, Raju is enraged and transforms into the fearless “Palnati Puli,” striking back at Mukundam and Bhupati with the support of Rani. He even reforms Kannaiah, bringing him back to the path of righteousness. In retaliation, Mukundam sets fire to Raju’s colony, causing tragic deaths. Enraged, Raju confronts Mukundam and is about to kill him when Sarada intervenes and saves her son from committing the crime. Realizing the depth of his sins, Mukundam repents, begs forgiveness, and accepts Raju as his own son. The film ends on a happy note with the marriage of Raju and Rani.
